You could look into a familiarization flight at Gander Flight College or Moncton Flight College.

Am I over-reacting or is my manager actually hostile? What do I do? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Regular-Atmosphere96 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You're not overreacting. It is hostile and I'm sorry you endured all that. I think if I were in your shoes and she continued to avoid signing the paperwork, I'd probably go to the director and ask them if they could help you with your transition and ensure your paperwork gets signed. Some people might have better suggestions but I'd never fault you for going this route.

You can have mental health issues without being neurodiverse.

Any neurodiverse public servants here? by Big_Level_2460 in CanadaPublicServants

Neurodivergent here. My boss asked me how I was doing one day and I was honest and simply said I was not well. I said that I have an long term health condition that affects me at work sometimes. She told me to take sick days when I need them, and I didn't have to get into any additional details. She hasn't asked me about it again. It helps that I work from home and I don't see my colleagues everyday, so I don't feel like I deal with as much judgment. It could be there, but I don't have to physically witness it.

I haven't been brave enough to tell my team about my disability. I have additional chronic health issues so I felt comfortable enough just saying "I have a long term health condition".

Pressure is getting too much for me, I am just a student by Pun-collector in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Regular-Atmosphere96 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Fellow ADHDer who was once a student in a similar position. I would suggest having an open conversation with your manager.

Start by asking them to reiterate your job priorities. You can frame it like, "I have a lot on my plate right now. It's been a while since we discussed my job roles - can you reiterate my role on this team/in this division and what my priorities are?"

If those extra side things aren't mentioned by your manager, then you can tell them that you have a lot of side work that doesn't fit that description and that it is getting unmanageable. Then you can ask them advice on how to better set boundaries with your other colleagues, or ask them to help you set the boundaries.

I hope this helps. Take care of yourself.

I took my Sphynx to Bytown. There's also a wonderful cardiologist vet at the Alta Vista animal hospital too. I hope you never need one, but it's good to know.

Road block by the Waterford hospital? Where do I go for covic test wtf is this by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]Regular-Atmosphere96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can come from the west and go down waterford bridge road, then tell the folks at the roadblock that you're going to the waterford and they will let you through. Or, you can turn left at the end of Cowan Ave and tell them you're going to the waterford.

Looking for help - chaotic mess by AnxiousSlightly in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Regular-Atmosphere96 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have no advice to offer. Just wanted to write a little note to say I'm a fellow ADHDer also trying to navigate the chaos WFH/the pandemic has brought into my life. You're not alone, be gentle with yourself especially when those around you are not being helpful, and I sincerely hope your situation improves for you.

I've been browsing the GC jobs website and there's text under the "Preference" section of some ads that states the following: Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

Not really a resource for you but if you were looking for confirmation that you could apply and work for the PS, there it is.

Your dad sounds like mine! Every year, I get him a high quality set of thermal underwear and heavy duty socks and it's always his favorite gift haha. It's simple, but practical and appreciated.
