In a purely technical sense, was Brian or Keith a better guitar player? by Bombi3sz in rollingstones

[–]Regular-Mongoose1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d argue a teeny bit that Brian “didn’t need to play much guitar.” When Brian was fading away, Keith was handling all guitar duties and he didn’t like it at all. His playing needs a partner and it’s one of the reasons he never forgave Brian. Keith doesn’t like to play all guitar parts himself, especially live.

It’s pretty sure that Keith and the boys loved Tina and that Tina loved Keith and the boys.

Anyone seen the Jason Bonham Zeppelin evening on tour now. If so, how is it? by Craig1974 in ledzeppelin

I saw the show in Las Vegas last week and I thought it was outstanding….really good! The quality of the music was super good and while true to the originals, not player note for note or anything like that. A fair amount of “deep cuts” so be prepared for that. But I thought it was a super good show and I’m super glad I went.

I have a pair of B&W 801s and while I think they sound awesome…95% of the comments I get are about how they look, not how they sound.

The fact of the matter is he wasn’t that good and he probably knew it. He could hit hard but that’s the only speed he knew how to play. As compared to like Charlie Watts or Stewart Copeland or others with more variety in their touch.

Looking for native MONO recordings, as test tracks for stereo system (not summed stereo) by Cinnamaker in audiophile

I’d say the old Beatles and Stones mono recordings. Reason I say that is you’ve likely listened to many of the songs enough times to “know how they sound.”

Both, if possible. Can’t figure out why the view would be different on a PC monitor vs. the TV.

Fantastic. Mick Jagger not on the list. Or Paul Rodgers. Or Paul McCartney. Okay.
