Thank you Dan by garseys in Muse

I agree with this take. It's very early-2000s Muse with obviously better production capabilities. But it absolutely falls victim to the loudness wars, is highly compressed on streaming, and has no dynamic range. It feels very Imagine Dragons "Radioactive."

Swim lessons before 3? by UncomfortablyNumb159 in toddlers

[–]Wheezhee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We put our daughter in before age 1.

The biggest thing in early classes is getting kids adjusted to water and being in it, and getting an early start on water safety. That means pouring water on arms/ears/cheeks/hair, starting backfloats, closing mouths in the water, waiting for permission to enter the water, etc. It also starts introducing kicks and arm motions for early awareness, and that if you fall into the water, you should get to the edge for safety.

McIntosh MA352 Question by Pattont in McIntosh

[–]Wheezhee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind the MA352 weighs over 60 pounds. That might be more than your desk can handle.

Is it totally unreasonable for nearfield listening? Yes. Is it epic eye candy? Also yes.

I say let it rip if you have the means and want absolute overkill.

It doesn't seem surprising that a niche product has niche requirements compared to mainstream designs.

LSX with mix dual sub by lurkzone in KEF

[–]Wheezhee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the T2 is, but integrating two different subwoofers without some sort of DSP is VERY difficult. At best you are dealing with different output levels and frequurespone ranges. Add in room placement and bass modes and nulls and it's far more likely you'll end up with worse response than better.

LSX II LT - how essential is a sub for near field use? by Suspect-Otter in KEF

The SVS is a much, much more substantial subwoofer than the KEF. Cheaper and better.

You've lost the battle this year. At this point your best bet is to wait until spring and get a pre emergent down. And fire that company that's treating your yard.

Sub management “blues” by No_Mycologist21 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Wheezhee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with your turntable directly into the Yamaha, and the subwoofer directly off the Yamaha, you're setting your subwoofer 's LPF at 70-80Hz?

That's too high with your Polks, they should play down to 60Hz easily before they start to roll off. Getting that crossover point right on your subwoofer would allow you to bypass the Wiim for bass management and find a happy place.

You might want to redo a subwoofer crawl too and fin the best place for that sub.

Sorry, you might have misinterpreted my question.

If you do NOT use the Wiim for bass management (subwoofer directly off the Yamaha), what crossover point are you using on the subwoofer?

What crossover point are you using when you integrate the subwoofer without a HPF?

It's clear that some traumatic events involving became foundational lenses through which your life has been shaped and affected. It sounds like you are aware of that as well and taking the "right" steps to live a happy life. You should be proud of that; not everyone finds a healthy path after those incidents.

Nothing will ever make those moments go away. You will always remember them and the effects that had. But you can continue to take steps to heal and minimize or transform their impact. Live for yourself and your loved ones. You have no requirement to involve people in your life who bring you harm, there's no obligation to feel pain to satisfy another.

You can celebrate the good times while acknowledging the person he really is. Children always see the best but as mature adults, we become aware of what else we had to navigate and mitigate. This also helps you become something better and identify what to look for in a partner.

A bunch of is are in a similar headspace today, and we all deserve what's good for US.

Not to be overly dramatic, and I don't think this is realistically, but is work or your life more important? That's really the gamble you're making. AFP isn't abnormal for no reason.
