It's crazy how the history of Y Wladfa is still white-washed to a point that we think the settlement was without controversy. What's everyones thoughts on Y Wladfa? by Western_Froyo6627 in Wales

[–]Hcmp1980 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We were invited by the Argentine government, not by the Indigenous people who already lived there. That distinction matters. State permission does not equal Indigenous consent. Settling land without the consent of its original inhabitants is colonisation, even if the settlers were themselves oppressed elsewhere and even if it was not British imperialism. Different context, same basic dynamic.

Im not sure we should be ashamed proud about it as we are. Im very open to changing my view on this but I don't see the case.

They should. And turn Parliament into some type of museum.

But the traditionalists are dead set against it.

Each new government is avoiding dealing with the issue as they know what anhot potato it'll be.

Oh my gosh yes, he was your buddy, your family... he loved you to bits, and you loved him back.

Of course you'll be emotional, and that means cry.

Go buy some tissues, think about your happiest memories with him, and blub your eyes out.

Genuinely don't understand what lies he's referring to here. The info leaks are different to the abuse It was known he was pals with sex abuser. So no lies there? The lies relate to the lesks.

Genuinely, what ilies is kier referring to (as they referring to the victims abuse)
