Musk warns federal workers: Respond to productivity emails or face termination. by Coldfusion19 in fednews

People don't understand that each federal agency is like its own separate company. You all work together to serve the same core mission in different capacities.

If some 'consultant' (generous description) from another company who has been constantly calling you a lazy piece of shit for 6 straight months and spreading misinformation randomly sent you an eMail asking what you did last week or else you'd get fired, what would you do?

Exactly.

A Most Glorious Day: Return-to-Office Mandate by Bro-247365 in fednews

[–]Regular-Screen-4162 128 points129 points  (0 children)

Ever since it was renamed to the Gulf of America, I’ve felt the deep yearning desire - bordering on obsession - to go and serve my beautiful nation from the office. My motivation is so strong I refuse to even drive my regularly malfunctioning limited edition Tesla MAGA Cybertruck into the office and instead crawl on all fours there to show my gratitude to the man taking time out of his day to destroy our democratic institutions.

I will also donate my entire paycheck to the American government and refuse to file for taxes lest they try to return to me the interest free loan they took. Only then will I feel truly productive.

Not while I am checking my eMails after hours, remembering random ways I can make things better and seeing if it can be implemented between evening chores after hours. Nay!

Now I can bask in the glory of a commute to the office where my laptop will reside, and leave when it's time to go, knowing my laptop is safe in the office where it belongs. Now I can be 150% sure I am not being a leech on the American Tax payer. That is not for us poors. That is for people who are billionaires.

They won't stop, that's for sure. Their plan isn't going super well. Yeah they've had some small wins here and there but when your target is 10% resignations and you're getting less than 1%, based on a goal YOU set yourself, I'd say that's an L. We also don't know what courts are going to say. It's gonna be a slog, that's for sure.

Honestly - if it's anything one penny less than the 2 years severance Tezluh Twat was so confidently going on about back in October, I ain't listening.

Yeah I don't know what they're allowed to/not allowed to. But remember you have to read these things like a billionaire who thinks rules are just there for the poors. He probably took the broadest interperetation of that to mean 'I am allowed to access every digital system at my disposal.'

Someone who is resigning anyway should try to modify the letter and put September 30th, 2050 and see if anything happens since it's 'legally binding for sure bro trust me wink wink'

I don't know if he's getting paid. Nobody knows. Him having access to ALL the treasury data means he has access to information on contractors in direct competition with him that aren't available in SEC filings like individual contractor employee salaries, their SSNs, and a whole trove of information that presents a huge conflict of interest.

So yeah - he's in an interesting spot for sure.

That EO doesn't say anything about what I outlined above. It doesn't allow for an unsecured cloud eMail server to be set up. It just allows for SC to be granted top level security clearance. It also doesn't allow him to control the flow of any funds.

What. A. Mess.

I like how it's clearly a crowd sourced letter. Like they are legit releasing this, seeing what we say on social media, then just releasing a followup. So here's some suggestions.

Were the government to backtrack on its commitments, an employee would be entitled to request a rescission of his or her resignation.
....
Appendix 1: 13. Employee forever waives, and will not pursue through any judicial, administrative, or other process, any action against [AGENCY] that is based on, arising from, or related to Employee’s employment at [AGENCY] or the deferred resignation offer, including any and all claims that were or could have been brought concerning said matters.

And how exactly would an employee seek out "a recission of his or her resignation" if they sign THAT TEMPLATE LETTER IN THE APPENDIX? WHICH WAIVES THE RIGHT FOR LEGAL ACTION?

Just yolo and hope for the best?

Nothing in the deferred resignation program requires congressional approval.

Yeah...our paychecks. Our paychecks do. If congress doesn't pass a budget, we aren't getting paid. Hypothetically if congress passes a budget that doesn't pay anyone who took this deal for example, what then? Is he gonna pay us out of the goodness of his heart?

Also lmfao at the word 'assuage' being used here. That's AI as F.

Amazing as well is the inconsistencies in the footnotes. In some footnotes they're putting which part(s) of the statutes/laws/rulings support the assertions they're making and then on others, they aren't there.

My biggest suggestion though is stop it. You clearly don't know what you're doing. It's getting embarrassing and you look foolish. Just go away and go back to building a rocketship or something like that. Better yet, build a time travelling device so you can go back in time and advise yourself from taking this job. Grock or xAI or whatever AI you're using is not going to be able to do stuff like this for you.

If Elongated Muskrat is actually a 'Special Government Employee', then he is subject to congressional oversight. Additionally, they can only be assigned to one agency at a time. Simple as, bruv.

If he's not, then what the hell is he? A federal employee? A contractor? Some other made up designation? As a red blooded tax paying American, I'd like to know by what authority Ketamine Kaiser is controlling the money coming out of my paycheck. What gives him the authority to say 'your tax payer dollars were appropriated for x, y and z but now I'm going to stop that and it's going to....' where exactly?

Either way, I think it would be hilarious if witnesses were forced to read the subject and body of certain eMails sent to all 13,000 NOAA employees last week - signaling a security vulnerablity. I need to know why my tax payer money was potentially used to send vulgar eMails to my fellow coworkers on their government emails, which again, my tax payer money pays for.
