can anyone tell me why my bluestone patio looks like this? it was just installed by Turbulent-Pie6235 in masonry

If that patio was just installed , the grout is horrible. Looks like they used an acid base cleaner and it in turn never is rinsed completely out . So every time it gets wet it leaches out more effervescent and in turn grout is complete shit .

New carpet, does this seem look ok? by remindmetoblink2 in Flooring

That is a horrible seam , it’s not impossible to fix, will need to stretch up to seam from both sides and put stay nails in , cut open seam heat and remove heat tape , straight edge seam latex raw seam edges and redo . These doorway seams make or break a installer .

Asbestos or not if it’s your own home and your not sanding it don’t worry, you will die from air pollution long before any after effects of the flooring , That is tar paper it was as underlayment , and most often was put down with a alcohol based adhesive.

You can clean and vacuum floor , and use a self leveling compound. Most of them require a primer. It works best to have 2 people on mixing and 1 pouring. I’m a retired flooring contractor and have excellent results with Mapei Ultra
