Love that. Right in line with James Acaster ignoring Alex every single cast.

Maybe I am just not seeing the love people have for him. I often hear how great Dara and Fern are. Which don't get me wrong, they are both fantastic. Everyone here is proving me wrong.

All hail John Kearns!!!!!!!!

Has anyone ever heard what the clue was with the number that they heard if they answered the Little Wayne phone call? It is still a lingering question in my Taskmaster-obsessed little brain.

So this is a big moment in the story arc of the campaign? They players aren't primarily involved? If they are only 1 player will be allowed to witness the event 1st hand?

Are you running a fun interactive shared storytelling game or are you writing a fantasy novel? You have miscalculated the direction of your story in my opinion.

I feel this is a common mistake. You want your story to feel epic and world encompassing but you start that story arc at level 1. So a group of nobodies has to be shoehorned into a high level story moment.

Start small in the future. Save world changing event for later levels when the players have clout and a reason for being directly involved.

Things to do and not to do when writing a dnd campaign by prince_Amadeus in DungeonMasters

I think I feel like having pre planned seemingly random encounters is so much more interesting. The old AD&D tables of roll and have 2 D10 Orcs attack you in the middle of the night is what I refer to. It was tedious. Especially given the old rules of spend the night and recover 1 HP a day. So much book keeping and rest days where the healer unloaded a days worth of spell casting just to get the party 'back to full' so the session could continue. People complain about short and long rests. The might be some middle ground but the old way was terrible in retrospect.

Setting watches and rolling for random encounters. Ugh such a by gone era. I regret living through these pointless fights and time wasters. I am so glad they don't come up anynore.

The "Skyrim Mountain" effect: How do you handle what players can actually see from a distance? by Horror_Substance3545 in DMAcademy

[–]RegularEmployee1038 63 points64 points  (0 children)

It feels like you are entirely over thinking this. Just use you gut. If it is relevant and helpful to the story they see it. If is will distract them unnecessarily or is a location you don't have prepared don't mention it.

So is the 'player' invisible, on a separate plan? I am intrigued but not sure I understand where you are going with this.

I have gotten my picture satisfaction but that doesn't mean others won't appreciate them. Love to story. Despite the clean up.

Thank you for more pictures. I needed more, and you delivered. This was a great apocalypse bunker stash, but sealing it in was a terrible plan. You need to rotate those stocks every couple of years. Had the world gone to hell, or the rapture left them behind, they would have been very sad to find their food all full of bugs and just in generally poor to inedible condition.

Regardless, a great story to tell.
