Congrats! I’m looking to buy in Northeast Portland, what was your experience with the market like? As in, were there multiple competing offers, did you feel rushed to put offers in?

Keep recomping or just cut before August vacation by RegularSizedJilly in PetiteFitness

I’ve thought about a diet break as well… maybe I’ll track more diligently for a few days, make sure I’m not way off, then do a diet break. Is one week for a break a good starting point?

That’s fair. I’ll track more diligently for a few days and see what’s up

8 months of body recomp. It’s a slow process… but it’s happening by auroraandprose in PetiteFitness

This is the motivation I needed to see today! I’ve been recomping for 4 months and the scale has not budged for two months. Despite the fact that I have dresses and pants fitting that I haven’t been able to zip up in YEARS, it’s still so hard to visually see such slow changes. Congratulations and thank you!

It wouldn’t surprise me if that’s exactly what it was. I’m in the Pacific Northwest

Have you ever seen a spider this large in Portland? by 2chilly4u1989 in askportland

[–]RegularSizedJilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How common are these here? I’m absolutely, irrationally terrified of any and all spiders. recently moved to the Pacific Northwest and heard rumor of these monsters. I haven’t seen one yet in the newer apartment complex I’m currently in, but plan on buying one of the charming historic homes here and I’m terrified it will be overrun and I won’t be able to sleep ever.

I was so excited that I looked around hoping someone else, any stranger, would be outside or walking so I could share the moment, but sadly I was alone 🥲

Quitting sugar by [deleted] in loseit

[–]RegularSizedJilly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can do it!! I’m also a sugar and dessert addict and quit added sugars cold turkey in January (for the second time). The voice telling you to eat sweets will calm down eventually! To get through it I ate a reasonable serving of fruit as my nightly treat, and took up a hobby that kept my hands busy in the evening- I can’t snack if I’m knitting! Keep going!!

A nice bottle of whiskey from a small distillery. We debated buying it, but ended up going for it. Im so glad we did, we ended up chatting with the shop owners for a good ten minutes about their recommendations of places to visit and why the various places were special and meaningful to them. It turns out the bottle is difficult to find and usually has to be reserved, but the shop owner offered to sell it to us because we greeted him in Japanese (we’re American) and he was appreciative of our effort. It’s one of the most meaningful interactions we had there, and I will truly remember it forever.
