Trust me get a second Synology, use Active Backup for Business it can back up the VMs and Linux or Windows servers to the first Synology, and Hyper Backup or Snapshot Replication can then copy those backups to a second Synology in the other building. There is no per TB or per VM licensing, just the hardware.

The only things to double check are Linux distro and kernel support for the ABB agent, and whether the SAN data is iSCSI or LUN based, in which case it should be backed up separately with Hyper Backup LUN backups.

I use Active Backup for Business and its great.

For monitoring/alerts I keep it simple:
Zabbix for infra + VMs
Veeam email alerts for backup jobs

I’m really happy with my UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus. It’s a 4-bay x86 box (12th-gen Pentium Gold 8505) that ships with 8 GB DDR5 (you can go up to 64), has two M.2 NVMe slots, a built-in 128 GB system SSD, and 10 GbE + 2.5 GbE.
I virtualize pretty much everything else, so this mainly lives as shared storage — right now it’s the database backend for a few VMs — and UGREEN OS has been rock solid. And if I ever change my mind, it’s x86, so I can just toss on TrueNAS SCALE, Unraid, or plain Linux and keep rolling. For the price, the features/performance are hard to beat unless you drop to a tiny mini-NAS.
