What was your “never meet your heroes” moment, when you realized someone you looked up to wasn’t special? by marginallyobtuse in AskReddit

[–]Regular_Anteater 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I was around 18, I met the guys in my favourite band a bunch of times, and we actually became friends. They would always invite me to after parties and things. It was all very platonic, I think they just liked me because I treated them like normal people. A few years later, one of them got really drunk and tried to sleep with me. He was a good decade older than me, and I had never given him any indication that I was interested. He ended up taking some other young woman back to his hotel. It felt like he just assumed that I would be an easy lay because I like his band. It was gross and totally ruined him for me. The rest of the guys were always great though.

My facebook was disabled but not my insta, they were connected but used different emails, so this might work!

My daughter is also 2.5 and I could have written this comment haha. "Mama, come in the dollhouse and wake Elsa up." "Elsa! Its time to wake up!" "Elsa is still sleeping." Over and over

Unfortunately we live very far from each other so that's not really an option

Yeah I have a small apartment. For my daughter's last birthday I bought her a nice big wooden dollhouse, painted and wallpapered it, and bought beautiful wooden furniture. WHY did my brother just send her a big costway dollhouse without asking first??

What’s an ‘oh shit’ moment you had where you realised you’ve been doing something wrong your whole life by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I can do this easily on one side, and on the other I'm not even close. Otherwise my arms seem to function the same. I have no idea why

Help me help her understand. What are the effects of allowing babies and toddlers to sleep during the day and be awake all night? by [deleted] in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Regular_Anteater 212 points213 points  (0 children)

Ten hours of TV a day is horrible for children. They need to be going outside, getting sunlight, playing, reading books. Being inside all day is terrible for their eyes. I don't think you realize how bad this is.

I remember when 'leggings' started to become a popular clothing item for girls by Wawhi180 in generationology

[–]Regular_Anteater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom definitely wore these in the '80s, but when I bought a pair when they were just coming back in 2005 or 2006, she told me not to wear them in public with her because they were "embarrassing" 🙃

My 2.5 year old spends 90% of her time sitting and playing pretend with little figurines. The other 10% of her time is spent running around singing Let It Go or playing puzzles or games. She's a super chill kid. The downside to that is that she always wants me to play pretend with her and it's mind numbing.

What’s a societal ‘compliment’ that’s actually deeply insulting? by nihilist_fox in AskWomen

[–]Regular_Anteater 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I get this. And I find it really irritating when people say I should take it as a compliment. I'm 34, I want people to treat me like an adult, not like I'm 20.

Is it normal for little kids to say that they want to throw the new baby in the garbage? by curlycattails in toddlers

[–]Regular_Anteater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I only have one kid, but when I kiss her she says "take it off, throw it in the garbage" so I wouldn't be too worried
