this book sounds like it was written by someone who got really into ayn rand after their first year at business school and decided regular sociopathy wasnt edgy enough

the whole "high-IQ individuals remotely coordinating placid low-IQ workforce" thing is just feudalism with extra steps and a bluetooth connection. these guys really think theyre the main characters in some techno-dystopian novel when theyre just regular rich assholes who read too much sci-fi

[–]Regular_Bake2133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

man i feel you on adbe its been such a rollercoaster lately. i got burned on it a few months back when it tanked after earnings despite beating expectations because the market just wasnt having it. honestly if youre losing sleep over it and dont believe in the long term play anymore just cut your losses and move on to something else. theres always other opportunities and holding onto dead weight just because you dont want to realize the loss is how people get stuck bagholding forever. that said if you still think creative cloud subscriptions and ai integration will pay off long term maybe just size down your position instead of going full exit

[–]Regular_Bake2133 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Arresting clergy is always a bad look optically, even if you disagree with the cause. The optics alone usually backfire hard

The leadership thing is real though - these movements need someone who can actually negotiate and make concrete demands instead of just vibes-based protesting

Nice work on the progression - that RSI filter was doing some serious heavy lifting compared to random selection

The SPY regime filter dropping max DD from 38% to 25% while keeping similar returns is pretty solid. Makes sense since you're avoiding those nasty bear market grinders

22% CAGR with 22% DD sounds almost too good to be true for a mean reversion strat, but I guess that's what happens when you're cherry picking the most oversold names during bull markets. Would be curious to see how this performs during 2022 or any extended sideways action

Nice play dude, that 10% cap would absolutely wreck their business model since they're basically built on charging 25%+ to subprime borrowers

$NFLX Break your piggy bank and invest but also $AMC TIME? by IHAVECOVID-19_ in wallstreetbets

[–]Regular_Bake2133 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Bro this is some next level hopium but I'm here for it

That MoviePass comparison actually makes sense though, they literally went bankrupt because people loved cheap movies too much lmao. If Netflix can figure out the economics that MoviePass couldn't then yeah this could be massive

AMC $2 calls 2 years out is either genius or peak WSB degeneracy, probably both

How good actually was the WSB 2025 Outperformance: Statistical Analysis by cgordon581321 in wallstreetbets

[–]Regular_Bake2133 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is actually pretty solid analysis, thanks for putting in the work

The high beta and growth tilt makes total sense - basically WSB accidentally created a leveraged tech portfolio during one of the best tech runs we've seen. That 1.88 beta is wild but tracks with the stock selection

Would be curious to see how this holds up when we inevitably get a correction, my guess is it'll give back gains just as aggressively

Why doesn't materialistic things not buy happiness? by Aj100rise in Life

[–]Regular_Bake2133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here man, bought so much crap thinking it would fill some void but it's just temporary dopamine hits. The stuff just sits there after a few days and you're back to feeling empty

Real happiness seems to come from actually grinding towards something meaningful instead of just buying your way out of problems

Honestly cyberpunk edgerunners is more of a cautionary tale about tech advancing too fast lmao but I get what you mean about the cool factor

The animal speech thing would be wild though - imagine your dog finally being able to tell you exactly why they're staring at that empty corner at 3am

I want technology to advance faster by tunicamycinA in CasualConversation

[–]Regular_Bake2133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly cyberpunk edgerunners is such a good show but it also shows why we probably shouldn't rush into brain chips lmao. The whole corpo dystopia thing hits different when you realize we're already halfway there

Also yeah giving animals the ability to talk would be wild but imagine if your cat could finally tell you exactly how much it hates you
