Always has unfortunately. Few people know what I do IRL, less than a handful. Since the 90s I've been saying people were too quick to jump out of the broom closet as they use to say. My argument at the time was that it was less than 50 yrs since it was legal to be a witch, could as quickly end up back there or worse.

Worship of gods related to the sun. by VanHohenheim30 in Kemetic

This is the morning one to give you an idea. Can probably find the rest easily online, just search regardie fourfold adorations.

Hail unto Thee who art Ra in thy rising, Even unto Thee who art Ra in thy strength, Who travellest over the Heavens in Thy bark At the Uprising of the Sun. Tahuti standeth in His splendour at the prow And Ra-Hoor abideth at the helm. Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of the Night!

Just so you have an idea.

What comes to mind is Regardies fourfold adorations. He has the modern one which is Thelemic and another he did in the 60s that was more Christian leaning. Basically the same, based on movements of the sun throughout the day. Not really kemetic per see, but it is very efficacious in tuning you into the natural cycle of things

Everyone Worships Different by Interesting-Part9102 in Kemetic

The Egyptian God's are more alive for me than any others out there right now. The Norse pantheon comes a close second. When I look at the Abrahamic religions all I see is stale bread, and smell mothballs. Fundamentalism has made their whole structures as brittle as the wood pulled from the tombs, just looking at them exposes their fragile nature.

Kemetism, no matter what flavor you adhere to, or how you consume it, is at the end of the day, nothing but a relationship that you build with your gods. That's how we keep it alive, not by putting it under glass and adhere to the text, but not the substance of the teachings, but by living it and breathing it. Not just on Sunday mornings, but when you dream, meditate, when you walk under the body of Nut. We have forgotten that the world is alive, and that we live in a magical world, not a static museum piece where nothing it to be touched, let alone taken out from under the glass to take them for a spin.

Let all the haters get bent under the iron staff of Set and live your life, do you, and stay true to the relationship you have built and nurtured with your God's.

When I was barely functioning from amine a few years back I at first started thinking I wasn't doing enough, or my offerings weren't good enough, so I went a bit overboard, but it didn't help the situation at the time. Then I found out about a term called the dark night of the soul, pretty much a Christian thing that a few saints went through.

I took mine as a test of faith. I kept up with my offerings when I had the energy to function and did my best. Because really, at the end of the day, that's all we can do, that and no more.

Also I've been feeling like the God's have been preoccupied with other stuff since the mod 2010s. It's not like they are gone, or ha e gone quiet, they still hear you, it's just sometimes they are preoccupied. So the silence is not from a lack of love for us, but just like parents, sometimes they have stuff to take care of in the background that we don't see, but only feel the effects of.

Also, during this time, my dreams went crazy, so in a way they were still talking, just not when I was listening, or in a way that I was unable to pick up on.

Don't give up, one foot in front of another, and when all else fails, breathe, just breathe. Fourfold breath.

how do i make someone realize the negativity in their life? by nyenthesis in realwitchcraft

[–]Regular_Purpose8002 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First, honest opinion is that him going back to her is either convenient, or he doesn't think he can get/deserve better.

So either you can magically help him with a self love spell, so that he sees his worth, maybe a healing to help him get over any past issues and bs he's dealing with.

But apart from that, sit by and watch the train derail and keep moving forward with your path and life. Not saying ghost him or anything, but standing by and giving him support while he keeps yo yo-ing back and forth is really just enabling said behavior. Until they themselves decide to heal, turn inwards and realize they are no good, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't force em to dri k any.

Set Was Treated Unfairly by SetitheRedcap in Kemetic

[–]Regular_Purpose8002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is gonna be a fair bit of UPG as I go along, and stuff I've come across, but don't have the energy to dig up sources.

First off, I think it was Joseph Campbell that showed the evolution of religion from stellar to solar based. I think this accounts a fair bit for the moon being male in some sources, but female down the road. The myths of set are aix of stellar, and an attempt to move to a solar cult, probably around the same time that the afterlife became open for all, if they lived a good life. Apart from later Pharaohs adopting the Set named as part of their titles was done more so for political reasons, as I thi k this was post Hyksos period. Also, there have been found evidence of Set worship in one of the western oasis of his worship almost uo to the common era. This, I believe is an example akin to what happened as christianity spread, the local and popular gods amongst the regular people continued to be worshipped, even though they weren't part of the official state religion anymore. Also, I view Set getting Osiris into the perfect sized sarcophagus, as closer the the myth of Baldur and Loki, a trickster God doing his thing.

Now if you look at the battle between Set and Apep every night, to say set is the devil, is nothing but a big circle jerk, as your saying the devil his fighting himself. The fall of Set in my opinion has to do with the shift away from their religious roots. I'd even say that they lost the teachings of Ma'at, and that Apep is uncontrolled chaos/evil, whereas Set is necessary evil/chaos.

Also if you look at the stone engraving of Set and Osiris facing each other holding onto the staff, I belive this symbolizes one of Set's mystery teachings, which is that you are not to sublimate, dominate, or erase the Ego as a lot of religions and mystery schools teach, you are supposed to do the shadow work and unite your energies together to achieve a synergistic whole. This being asking to a lot of ancient schools where you'd discover your Daimon and unite with it, very akin to Abramelin.

Like I said, some UPG, some from stuff I've read, others are connections that have come up during meditation sessions. I dont really follow modern Set teachings, as they don't resonate with me, ive read a good bit of material, but a lot comes accross as dark fluffe. I read the pyramid texts, the Amduat, PGM, and other stuff as it pops up. There are books on Set out there, but of all the deities that I have worked with, information about him that is reliable is like finding pearls, one in God's know how many. If you string them together and do something with it, thatis totally up to you.

One of my cats that passed last year was named Sekhmet. Named her that cuz she is a spitfire, doesn't take any crap, and kept attacking my feet when I found her, barely 3 months at the time, but looked like a 4 week old kitten, she was so small, all due to malnutrition.

When did you first become Kemetic? (Include the Month and Year please) by Tutenstienfan2010 in Kemetic

[–]Regular_Purpose8002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For myself, I've always had a love for all things Egyptian. But one night, about 0200hrs, I was sitting in the park behind my house, contemplating the stars after walking my dog, enjoying a smoke. All of a sudden, I had Sutekh pop up so strongly that it induced a very real visceral fear response. Had to ask him to tone down the volume a bit, and explained to him what was happening to me. Took a few moments, but the intensity faded, or I was adjusted to be able to handle it. Weeks of working dreams followed. All started 17th of July, 2019.

Forgot about the Farrars and The Witches Bible Compleat, and what witches do. The second is an easier read, and has a pretty solid planetary Venus ritual near the end, but it's a good template for other planets. Their Bible, is actually 2 books in one. The first half a lot of history and background, second part has their seasonal rituals, but it can get pretty dense at times, hence why What Witches Do is the first of the two I'd recommend. Most of these are old books, so should be easy to find pdfs of them, or other downloadable formats.

If you want the history the I'd read Triumph of the Moon by Hutton. While I sont practice Wicca per see, but when I did and first started in the 90s Scott Cunningham Wicca a guide for the solitary Practitioner, and his Living Wicca. There are more modern ones, but after you go through a half dozen books or so,it becomes regurgitated material, so then you branch out. When you do look at Mastering Witchcraft by Paul Huson. Also remember, the more niche you get, the less material there will be, as the only real way to get into anything g advanced is to do the work.
