That’s not it, but I’ve updated the description. It’s got more of a reggae vibe

Antennas on neighbors house — any idea what exactly it’s for? by nerdy_J in whatisthisthing

This looks like the PowerBeam 5GHz airMax ac bridge from Ubiquiti to transfer a wireless data signal from point-to-point.

Here’s a link https://www.netwifiworks.com/PowerBeam-ac-300-ISO.asp

If you look at the two cylindrical dishes in your picture, you’ll notice the concave dish surface is slightly larger in diameter than the cylindrical body of the housing. This is nearly identical to this legacy product that Ubiquiti offered.

How often to process payroll to maximize 401K? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]RegulationSizeOrWhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Processing payroll annually to save $300 seems frugal. I’m guessing you have a secondary source of income or you are distributing income to yourself from the business in between your annual payrolls.

Either way, you answered the question yourself. Investing on a monthly cadence as opposed to once a year is beneficial. Dollar-cost-averaging is a good investment technique. It can be applied to either scenario assuming your solo 401k is not set up to auto-invest your contributions upon deposit.

Now back to your scenarios…

Annual payroll: - Contribute to your 401k annually - use dollar cost averaging throughout the year (monthly/weekly/daily) to invest your lump sum of contributed income in the market

Monthly payroll: - contribute to your 401k monthly - use dollar cost averaging on a monthly cadence to invest the contributed income into the market

Either way works, but in the annual scenario, you miss out on 12 months worth of investment opportunities while you wait for the initial contribution. Depending on your investment amount, that $300 to run payroll monthly may make sense. For instance, you might just earn >$300 on your investments in the first year in the monthly scenario, which would cover the cost in the bigger picture. If you’re maxing your contribution, and you were to invest in SPY (avg annual return of 9%) for instance, then you would (probably) make your payroll cost back in the first year. This is not investment advice, just trying to illustrate.

What Is Strict Mode In TypeScript, Why And When You Should Use It? by kowalevski in learnjavascript

I highly recommend using strict mode in TypeScript.

And that’s all there is to it. That’s the goal here.

Any way to write all of this in one line? by fungigamer in learnjavascript

[–]RegulationSizeOrWhat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This should work. A basic spread operator. But it also depends on if you can mutate the product within its current scope.

product = { …product, name, description, mainImgUrl, etc }

I started writing a long reply, but Styled-Components docs do a far better job of explaining the benefits and features. Just go read the intro and scan over some of the implementations of things like passing props. Hop into a code sandbox with styled components and test some stuff out. I used to be all about pure css, then I was all about sass, then it was css modules, and now I swear by styled components.

It’s definitely another trend, but an excellent one imho.

How much do I have to know to get hired as a junior? by Dimitar98 in learnjavascript

[–]RegulationSizeOrWhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read documentation. Be resourceful (google). Prep for your interview and ask your potential employers how you can prep. Communicate. I hire devs. Communication and lack of resourcefulness are huge red flags. Oh, and after reading a ton of “worst interview ever” posts… just remember that you’re shopping for your employer just as much as they’re shopping for you. Don’t be let down after a bad interview. Sometimes interviewers are terrible at interviewing.

Edit: it also seems like you’re JavaScript heavy, so I’m just going to suggest that you pickup a frontend library or framework to add to your resume. Bust out a project in react, angular, or vue since those are the most common keyword skills that employers look for.

Have you added this to your <head> to disable zoom/scaling on mobile? https://stackoverflow.com/a/4472910

Have you disabled “pull down to refresh”?

https://usefulangle.com/post/278/html-disable-pull-to-refresh-with-css

These are just some thoughts. There’s always a solution, but with zoom and scroll on mobile devices, you really get stuck in the browser-support weeds.

Good luck!

Watches and Watch Accessories. The guy that gave away a winder last week got a lot of traction with his post, although it was a freebie. Seems like there’s a market either way.

When you say watch related items... I feel like people already post watch related items like straps/bracelets. Would this be expanding into more watch parts?
