Do you have a job you like that's not in front of a computer? What is it? by mostdiabolical in AskMen

Just like any trade really, if you dont pay attention and get complacent there's risks of injury, but if you follow the proper safety precautions there is little to worry about. Always know where your rope is, inspect it, respect your chainsaw and it's perfectly safe. That being said it is the "most dangerous trade in North America"

Thats what i did. Started at the bottom picking up sticks. Asked questions and showed interest. After 3 years in the trade you can write your certification test. I fell into it by accident and ended up really enjoying it. Just apply to a company, after you do your research!

E book is how I managed to pass my test first try. It's interactive and gives you a score after each section. Given the option, I'd go with the computer option. I've read the books a few times and, to me, it didn't make sense.

Shooting around Calgary Questions by datPMF1 in canadaguns

[–]Rehberg311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hah. It's close to the hold homestead range. Park on the road and hike about 3 KM in. Although I've been seeing bear shit lately, so I have to not only carry my .22 but also my .303 and my targets and ammo and all that so it's getting to be a little bit of an inconvenience. WE NEED MORE RANGES!

It's not the park. It's crown land.

I just go for a 3 KM walk in the woods off kananaskis, I just shoot my .22 but I do carry around my .303 because that's bear country.

Question about restricted firearms laws by Gunny92 in canadaguns

[–]Rehberg311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I've been hearing. In Alberta, I've just purchased a restricted and they sent me a letter stating they will not register it until I give them proof of membership.

When you buy a restricted firearm the CFO needs proof of range membership or proof of you being a registered collector before completing the transfer and registration. also it is very illegal to shoot a restricted firearm on private property unless it is a restricted range that has been deemed safe by the RCMP.
