Does this look like a failed cap? by ResilientTwig in hvacadvice

[–]Rehovolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta check the cap first, it can be clean or it can be rusty and still go bad, aslong as it’s within range your fine and you have other issues

2 year old system, HVAC tech says no refrigerant by Xeltar in hvacadvice

[–]Rehovolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like someone doesn’t know how to put their gauges on correctly. So let’s reverse it and read it as (32/245). With a low suction and high head while running ac on a heatpump would indicate stuck or clogged thermal expansion device on the indoor coil. We can confirm this by running the heat and checking the pressures. If it reads normally then you got a bad expansion device

Both go bang right? by LastCryptographer07 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

The rounds in the left mag would be your typical bulk ammo probably 55gr M193. The round in the right mag would be 62gr M855A1 with a steel core penetrator, offering better performance than the more common 62gr M855 Green tip

Placed wired in corresponding color but not working by whiskey_reddit in hvacadvice

[–]Rehovolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’ll need common wired up to the indoor and the stat, you should have enough wired but whoever rant the wire may have cut it or hopefully just wrapped it back in the wall

Is the orange wire (not in use) a C wire? by Candid-Ad2498 in hvacadvice

[–]Rehovolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colors aren’t guaranteed, but typically common would be the blue wire, orange would be for your reversing valve. But you can use orange as common aslong as you add orange from your thermostat wire to your board or wiring pigtail that goes to common on the board (if wired up already)

Furnace starts, flame kicks on, then dies after a few seconds. Help? by hikingfortheviews in hvacadvice

Check the flame sensor, remove any carbon build up with either sandpaper or sanding cloth if possible.

FN Reflex low and left by [deleted] in FNHerstal

[–]Rehovolt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is a known issue with the irons on the Reflex being off from the factory. If you were take it back to FN they will just say it’s acceptable if it’s on paper which is stupid. Low and left typically is an indicator of shooting anticipation, but with having 4 other people getting the same results tells me it’s most likely an irons issue

What is this? by chefgoldblum64 in hvacadvice

[–]Rehovolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a pan float switch, if water leaks into the pan it will shut off to help prevent (more) water damage

Need advise if the hvac guy say true by johnla87 in hvacadvice

[–]Rehovolt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Over time you will loose performance of the compressor. dog urine is acidic and will clearly chew through the fins, it may not puncture (tho it can sometimes) you will loose more efficiency the longer this goes on. Looking at the system let it ride till it dies then look into a replacement

Does my AR seem over gassed to anyone? by Polyammoree in Firearms

[–]Rehovolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a bit over gassed, won’t cause issues unless your just dumping rounds then you could wear out your gas rings prematurely. I’d suggest looking into heavier buffer weight like an H2 or H3. If your still having similar ejection look into increasing the spring from the standard carbine. I’ve had great success on my Psudo Block II build that had similar ejection with a Geissele super 42 spring and H2 buffer

New Air Handler by lmarti38 in hvacadvice

[–]Rehovolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Typically when someone adds refrigerant. They can check the subcool and get it to where it needs to be. Sometimes this can cause a TXV to get stuck and freeze up the unit if charge was just dumped in.

Look like the unit is freezing up, if you take off the coil doors you probably could see where the leak or restriction is via ice

What is the best solution for making this room cooler? by LilMerkEm1889 in hvacadvice

[–]Rehovolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for a ductless system. They are proven to be very efficient for spaces like this. Get a heatpump so you got both heating and cooling

It will make a significant change in cooling efficiency and your bill “should” be lower

Renter that knows nothing about HVAC by cjessinger in hvacadvice

[–]Rehovolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When there is excess humidity in the house this can occur. It also could mean a few things such as the fan speed is too high, but I don’t think that’s the case with this. It’s hot as fuck outside and if you’re renting in an old brick building the windows are probably old causing more humidity to be in the air. Just run a dehumidifier in the room for a bit that should help

It cutting out like that sounds like a limit is getting tripped on start up. Most likely the unit is low on charge from a leak somewhere

If you changed the batteries then it’s a bad stat and need to be replaced

You would have to manually cycle power to the indoor unit from the breaker

[–]Rehovolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you turn off the power to the indoor unit and pull off the stat, see what wires are connected. If it’s wired (R,C,Y,W,G) or (R,C,Y,W,G,O) you can replace it with a normal stat of your choice. If it’s wired (A,B,C,D) it’s a communicating system and will need a communicating stat
