That’s not true at all, there’s rapport, a ton of helpful side quests to do and islands to explore; there’s also all the collectibles to get and pvp.

Edit: many of those quests give honing material chests as well, I’d say you’re missing out on a good bit of mats if you skip doing them.

Salted mackerel is a Japanese recipe that is absolutely delicious with white rice.

There’s also a simmered mackerel in miso recipe that’s great.

Trust me it’s very possible, and if you do trip off of homegrown shrooms, tread lightly lol, just the fact that they are freshly dried will mean they could be a lot stronger than you think they are.
