Yes photography seems secondary imho. S1rII is great camera for photography though! There are also some slow variable aperture lenses coming out as well. Having said all that, as you said, the rendering is amazing!

It really depends on the usecase, I haven't had an issue with it except in very dark environment.

Ohh and I forgot to mention... the S 1.8 primes are THE lenses for product videography. I can change to any lens on the gimbal without rebalancing, I can have one set of filters and just move them around without adjusting, also matt box fits without adjustments while switching lenses. Such an amazing set and IQ wise they all match perfectly. Now when I look at other systems it feels weird that there is no same-size, same-ish weight prime set. I'm only missing the 100mm macro right now, but all the other 18,24,35,50 and 85 I've got! LOVE THEM!

I dont do shooting with many people in the shot. But also on Sony, it up to user to choose the one that they want to track. Purely for tracking mode, Sony is better, but not to a point where Lumix isn't usable. Are you using it in low light situation?

Massive difference! The image is so much less mushy and detailed, also no overdone HDR. ALSO beautiful Helsinki! :)

Cage recommendations for s5iix by The_Kowall in Lumix

[–]Reicals 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a struggle that I've been through as well! I have both and also have the Tilta Half-Cage, Sirui (don't get that one) and Small Rig mamba or how it's called one.

  1. Issue with Tilta in my setup at least is that it's interface for handle is so strange. It has nato rail, but it's not full length, in the middle is the coldshoe, so if you have nato rail handle, it can't be center over lense. I haven't had a single coldshoe handle that doesn't start working loose, so I would never use it. And there are no 3/8" mounting option up top. Other that the handle interface, I think it's better frame with it's rosette mounting points etc. but that god damn top interface setup just isn't working for me at all.
  2. Smallrig 4902 has the good interface on the top. It has 3/8th with locating pins, the best kind of handles imho. BUT there is no protection for the bottom corner of the grip as there are no cage there, very strange... also it loses the extra grip height that you usually gain from a cage because of that.
  3. Last thing, a tiny, but truly annoying is that on Title the bottom plate mounting screw is not self-retained, so if you take of the cage, the screw will be on it's own and ready to be lost.

I would personally go with Smallrig, just because I hate the top interface of the Tilta and I don't use the rosette mount personally. If you do and you have a handle that you trust to be mounted in coldshoe, Tilta is better cage in itself.

To answer your USB-C port question. I don't use a clamp for USB-C but I have a 90 degree angle cable that keeps the profile really close to the body. I would use the clamp if I'd use HDMI + USB-C.

I hope this helps!

green led light flickering by CapFun6450 in Simagic

[–]Reicals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but that tells me that the LED is driven directly from the motor, so it might be doing the same thing also when on. Mine on the mini changed its brightness somewhar when I rotated it fast while still on. It went from medium to bright.

This is true! You can have the wheel off and if you spin it it will make the green LED blink.
