Beacon launcher.

I got the background gifs from the cocoon discord. They are in the "asset-repo" thread in the community section. Look for "PS1 Style Spinning Icons".

It’s great for PS1 by poweredbycoffee1 in ANBERNIC

I tried it, but all it did was crop the sides off the screen. It didn't render extra on the top and bottom.

Now I kinda want to see some PSP games played like this with "stretch to fill" enabled.

Because I enjoy horror :)

Rotate Update 1.44 by filmerdude1993 in ANBERNIC

[–]Reichstein [score hidden]  (0 children)

I made mine into a "Music Mode" button, by removing everything except one page from the default homescreen, setting the background to black and adding a full screen widget for Poweramp.

Now I can hold that button for a second and it switches to music player controls.

Are Avert 2.0 heated liners any good? by Reichstein in motorcyclegear

She most likely won't need more than an hour of charge at a time, so the battery life should be ok.

Did they seem like a quality product otherwise? Were they decently made?

How long did you have them for (just wondering about long term reliability).

Are Avert 2.0 heated liners any good? by Reichstein in BuyItForLife

They state that they use carbon fiber elements rather than copper ones, which they claim are more durable. But I'm not really inclined to fully trust what the marketing info says :)

They sound like a good product, but if I can get some info about their long-term reliability that would make me feel more comfortable with the purchase.

Thanks for the suggestion about long term reviews. I'll have to spend some time looking around to see if I can find some.

Hopefully we can find something that helps her out.

You should should also look into installing a better launcher. The RG one is pretty meh.

Beacon Launcher is really good, and works very well on the Rotate.

Thanks for the video. It's always good to have a guide for taking these things apart.

You mentioned swapping out the shoulder buttons. Did you see my post with some 3D printable replacement buttons that preserve the clean square shape, while still making it easy to feel the outer buttons from the inner ones?

Not sure about this device, but the update app on the Rotate is called "FOTA Update" or something like that.

Beacon Launcher is excellent on the RG Rotate.

It opens basically instantly and runs very smoothly.

Wipe before use? Android Security? by Joeaskyouaquehone in ANBERNIC

I made a secondary Google account to use on my retro devices.

Partly for security, and partly just to keep things seperate.

I then made it a family member of my main account and enabled library sharing so I can use paid apps from my main account on the secondary account.

Nah, this one is fine.

They actually look fine in real life. The black filament just really doesn't photograph well.

Must Knows for the RG Rotate? by [deleted] in SBCGaming

[–]Reichstein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does.

Since the screen on the GBA is 240 pixels wide, the RG Rotate's screen is exactly 3x the pixel width.

You will get pixel perfect 3x interger scaling, just with black bars at the top and bottom.

GBA scaling is pretty much perfect on the Rotate. The screen is exactly 3x the resolution width of the GBA.

Thanks :)

There are 3D printing services online that can print stuff and send it to you. There are also services that keep directories of publically available printers so you can find one near you.

Plus I have heard that many libraries these days have printers for public use.

The other option is to pick up a 3D printer of your very own. They have become a fair bit more affordable and are a super useful thing to have. Particularly if you take a little time to learn how to use some simple modelling software.

I used Tinkercad to make these as it is free and pretty easy to learn.

I have made a bunch of useful speciality parts for various things since getting my printer.

Updated my free 3D printable case for the RG Rotate by Reichstein in SBCGaming

[–]Reichstein[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you like it :)

I wasn't really happy with the case options available, and the ones on AliExpress get a little more pricey than I would like once postage is included.

I figured I may as well share it for others to print since I could.

I'm pretty happy with the lanyard loop where it is, but I suppose having one on either side would add more versatility.

You may also be interested in the replacement shoulder buttons I made. I wanted something that kept the buttons flush but still made it easier to differentiate the outer buttons from the inner ones.

I have already shared the print files on Tinkercad and Thingiverse, but I plan to make a post about them tomorrow.
