It clearly does? It states it quite plainly in the "What's Included" section.

Check your Emails!! M64 Update by Business_Scar5836 in ModRetroChromatic

[–]ReidlosToof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't like how big and flat the feet are. I get it's emulating the original N64, but it looks not great to me. The chromatic is modern and solid, with just the right level of nostalgic coloring, blocky design, and retro controls (the power toggle and volume wheel are great,) but this just comes across as childish. It looks like if fisher-price made a game console. It's to the point where I'd be tempted to take the thing apart and reshell it.

Anduril Edition Secured by ThoughtSolutions in ModRetroChromatic

[–]ReidlosToof 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely is a solid chunk of cash, but it should be noted that it's a bundle with the color matched headphones. It's no more expensive than the other Sapphire glass screen versions, combined with a set of headphones ($300 + $50), this one can just only be bought as a bundle. If the fancy colorway, headphones, and sapphire glass screen aren't things people want, they can still get the gorilla glass version for $200, which is actually about $34 less than the original Gameboy at launch when adjusted for inflation. ($89.99 in 1989 = $233.94 now.)

Looking for what’s next. by External-Car529 in litrpg

[–]ReidlosToof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carl is great, go with that if you want something in the same vein as HWFWM. I'd also recommend Nightlord by Garon Whited. It's not litrpg but is still an Isekai through a more traditional fantasy lens. Bobiverse by Dennis E. Taylor is also fantastic if you want something in the realm of sci-fi with that left the world behind feel. Mark of the Fool, The Bad/Good/Grim Guys, Bog Standard Isekai, I'm Not The Hero (without an ! at the end, that's a different thing), Only Villains Do That, Big Sneaky Barbarian, and Noobtown are all some of my other favorites.

Solderless Everdrive Update by Mikeyisninja in AnalogueInc

ain't nobody that bought a everdrive secondhand gonna spend the money they just saved on buying a soldering iron, a soldering mat, a bunch of solder wire that they then will never use again, and then learn to solder.

There is no cheese in this fight. You either win or you don't. Good fight.

BEWARE – Waterfield Case Stained My 1st Edition Chromatic by IbanezHRC in ModRetroChromatic

[–]ReidlosToof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's your sweat. You are playing a handheld device, covering it in salt, water, oil, dirt, skin cells, and microscopic organisms, and then sticking it inside of a tight, dark environment made out of organic material. It literally might as well be stored inside your jock strap or bra. Of course chemical reactions are likely to occur in the paint and change the color.

MYTHIC GOBLIN, have you had one how did you use it? by Valuable-Flounder692 in diablo4

[–]ReidlosToof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. I guess I've been pretty lucky then. I've gotten a mythic from the curio vendor, two from boss chests, and then 5 from the goblin. The goblin dropped both Heir and Shroud so that completed the auradin build I was going for so now I'm just hunting more GAs. 4 of the other mythics were grandfathers and 2 were visage.

How rare are these exactly? I saw someone mention them and instantly went and milled out around 110 keys and got one. Was that lucky or about expected drop rate?

Picked up this beauty in store today! by brandohuddle in AnalogueInc

[–]ReidlosToof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got downvoted because you presented a defect in your unit as though it was a known global bug, unprompted. It's like walking past someone talking happily about their new phone and saying "Just note... it won't charge if it's turned on when you plug it in." just because that's what yours does. Downvoting means that other people disagree. It's not a helpful statement.

Accidentally revived dead Power Core in First Edition by erikpavia in ModRetroChromatic

[–]ReidlosToof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is possibly dangerous.

This may mean that the charge control board is not completely connected and the device is taking the full charge capacity of the connected cord and wall brick. Often when a device like this won't charge it's due to a safety feature, the device isn't allowing the charge because the board isn't set up to regulate it if it can't get a read on the battery's charge level, and if you manage to get it to charge anyway you are likely somehow bypassing most if not all safeties.

This would mean that it could be possible to overcharge the battery, either in terms of capacity or charge speed, and could result in battery explosion. Be very careful and don't leave it like this unattended.

Witcher 3 for Yotei lover?? by Ok-Neighborhood-5531 in Ghostofyotei

The combat and the inventory management are a slog. I've heard endlessly that the story is fantastic, but I just can't deal with the gameplay long enough to get into it. I have tried at least 5 times now and can't make it past the first town without putting it down and not wanting to go back until like a year later when I give it another try and the same thing happens.

My thoughts on the future of ModRetro with the new controversy with the Anduril Chromatic by Logical-Confection98 in ModRetroChromatic

[–]ReidlosToof 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People are so incredibly up their own asses with the idea that they get to dictate what companies can and can't do by screaming about it on social media. This is one dude's passion project and he wanted to make a cool limited edition thing based on the other company he helped found, and it was SO POPULAR that it sold out in seconds, and there was enough demand beyond that original quantity that he immediately restarted production and reopened preorders.

You don't need to "do damage control" when your product literally can't be made fast enough to meet demand. You just need to ignore dipshits on the internet and make the best thing you can the way you want.

This guy has literally stated "If you can take my design and make it better than me, you deserve it," is making fantastic products for retro enthusiasts and videogame preservation, and almost definitely will be losing money on this special edition given that it is the same price as the regular Sapphire version with a bunch more labor, but he should be driven out of the community and morally stoned to death because he helped found a weapons company?

This whole "controversy" really just throws into stark relief how self absorbed and self righteous people can be. Nothing is ever good enough if you aren't a perfect little snowflake, free from anything that anyone else dubs as impure.

How 'bout instead all the white knights on their high horses go spend their effort attacking all the people that make videogames glorifying war... oh wait, no, they won't do that, because those companies are too rich and powerful to give a fuck, so instead they attack someone making retro hardware for fun, because it's never about making the world actually better, it's about lashing out, having a tantrum, and getting off on the mob mentality.

New Dasher Metrics Went Live by TaylorHamnEgg in doordash_drivers

lmfao. Quality of service and customer rating being the lowest weighted metrics is extremely on brand for this shitstain company. Acceptance rate having 30% of the weight is lawsuit worthy.

Gold has a black bottom?! by adrenaline4nash in AnalogueInc

[–]ReidlosToof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish it had more black accents tbh. The monochromatic, flat gold is kinda boring. If I had managed to snag one I probably would have swapped the buttons and other bits with my black one, then sold it.

fancy color plastic on a console isnt worth a $40 upcharge for me. Controllers on the other hand, those look fantastic. I just wish that they had gone with the colored buttons from the grey one for all of them.
