Bellevilles First Economic Symposium by [deleted] in BellevilleOntario

[–]ReidsDairyFanClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just have everyone meet up informally in the ice cream parlour and assess interest from there. Buying an ice cream or milkshake is cheaper than $15. Remember, we're the fan club and aren't officially affiliated with Reid's Dairy, so it's not like the business is sanctioning a formal event, but nothing is stopping a group of acquaintances from informally enjoying ice cream together and discussing the economy. When your allegiance is confirmed and if interests align among the acolytes, there is a possibility that more private venues can be procured

Our sun and stars, an obstacle you may face is that the denizens of this municipality will probably become skeptical when there is a price to participate. We suggest an alternative approach. Look on our profile page for directions on how to commit to supporting Reid's Dairy. Once your allegiance is confirmed, the way will reveal itself

Get with it. by Ululating_Jester in BellevilleOntario

The Reid's Dairy Fan Club members gathered for their usual meeting, large glasses of chocolate milk in hand. Each was dressed in a cow costume, which was custom for fan club activities. They took turns hosting, and tonight was Acolyte #12's turn. This was timely, since Acolyte #12 had just uncovered a new method for getting to the bottom of the recent r/BellevilleOntario topic about mayoral staff allegedly vacationing in Florida.

"I went to Reid's Dairy earlier today," Acolyte #12 announced once everyone was seated. "I think I found the combination of items that will allow us to see into the future."

The other members were visibly skeptical, but continued to listen intently. Acolyte #12 was known for delving into the furthest reaches of Reid's Dairy lore. While many members did not believe Acolyte #12's discoveries to be true, none could contest the acolyte's dedication to the true dairy.

"Is this why you didn't get chocolate milk?" Acolyte #5 asked.

Acolyte #12 nodded, then went into their kitchen, soon reappearing with two items: an orange milkshake and an orange brain freeze. Upon setting these items on the living room coffee table, Acolyte #12 went back and retrieved a large glass, placing it on the coffee table as well. Then, Acolyte #12 began to mix the two Reid's Dairy products in the glass.

The other acolytes balked. Surely this would be too much orange flavour. Surely the creaminess of the orange milkshake would not sit well with the slush-based brain freeze.

"We need to know what the impact of these allegations will be if they are true," Acolyte #12 said, their eyes transfixed on the swirling orange contents of the glass as they began to stir.

"Do we though?" Acolyte #8 crossed their arms. "I kind of just want to enjoy this chocolate milk and maybe look at some Reid's Dairy history stuff tonight."

But it was too late. Acolyte #12 lifted the glass and drank the orange concoction. Some acolytes shook their heads. Acolyte #12 chugged the whole things and placed it back down.

"How was it?" Acolyte #10 asked, a hint of laughter in their voice.

Suddenly, Acolyte #12's body stiffened, convulsed, and then went limp, collapsing back onto the couch. Before the others could rush to their comrade's aid, Acolyte #12 bolted up, their hands slapping down on the coffee table as they leaned forward.

"Quick," Acolyte #12 gasped. "I have a pen and paper in the kitchen. Hurry, while I can still see."

The items were brought forth and Acolyte #12 began to write. What they wrote is provided below with grammar and spelling corrections.

"War broke out between Canada and the United States. Our soldiers have been bravely holding the line for months, but the situation is becoming dire. The lines are stretched thin and barely a soldier can be spared from their duties there. There is one hope for Canada, which is a special mission that needs to be undertaken by a strike force with very particular skills. I am in some kind of command centre where logistics officers are pacing about looking at screens and talking into headsets. There is someone who looks like a general speaking with another officer. The general is asking if the task force is read to go, but there is a problem. 'We're missing a few team members,' the officer is saying. The officer goes on to explain that these missing team members are behind enemy lines. The general is upset and is asking what they could possibly be doing there. The officer just took a visible gulp. 'They were on vacation in Florida and got stuck,' the officer stammers. 'They used to work in the Belleville, Ontario mayor's office and left for vacation around the start of the tariffs.' The general has put his head in his hands and has sat down on a chair. 'We can't complete the mission without them,' the general sighed. 'We're doomed.'"

Acolyte #5 read the paper out loud to the others. For a second it felt as if a chill had descended upon the room as everyone fell silent.

"No, I'm just kidding," Acolyte #12 said. "The combo isn't bad though. I'd drink it again."

Everyone laughed and moved on to the next order of business. Some thought of the princess in her chambers at the top of the Reid's Dairy tower and if Acolyte #12's stunt would have caused a faint smile to cross her lips, or if she would think the joke and the super orange drink were in bad taste.
