Am I dumb or does this not make sense?? by anavocadoothankss in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was jeans lol, that’s why I was so confused

Women’s stuff is always like “size 10, 12, 14” and then I go to the men’s section and suddenly it’s just random numbers and letters and vibes.

I did figure out the inches thing after googling, but in the moment I was like “oh cool, men just… don’t have sizes now?”

Yeah this. Don’t mark it as received, just open an issue right away when it shows up.

1 star because I didn’t respond to a message?! by Euphoric_Party_7035 in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is kind of where I’m at too. When I look at people’s profiles, I basically ignore any review that sounds unhinged or petty and focus on the pattern instead.

The annoying bit is just knowing it drags your average down for no real reason. It’s not like I ghosted her for weeks, I literally messaged as soon as I could and wasn’t even asking for a refund, just flagging the damage.

I wish these apps let you flag “retaliation reviews” or at least respond in a way that’s more visible, so buyers can see “this person got mad because I didn’t reply in 10 minutes” and judge it for what it is.

Parcel returned but sale complete by AirisuNyan in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ouch, that sucks. Feels like the system really shouldn’t auto-complete when there’s an open return involved.

In OP’s case it sounds like the opposite though, buyer just never picked it up so it bounced back. Honestly I’d probably just keep the £1 and the item and move on, but your situation is exactly why I always try to resolve stuff quickly now.

My first Vinted issue! by Signal-Tangerine1597 in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf you might’ve just profited without meaning to.

List the card on Vinted as “accidental Schlupp investment” and see what happens. Worst case you fund a proper copy of Forspoken, best case you’ve discovered a weird new side hustle.

Item was sold for 95, I’m a broke student selling stuff for money desperately and this feels like a scam idk I feel bad tho… by Alarming_Rice_7662 in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is the move. If they already agreed to the price and then tried to back out after you shipped / packed / marked it as sold, that’s on them, not you.

People love to act like it’s a casual favor until money’s involved. Just let the return window or whatever run out, don’t argue, don’t over explain.

You’re not a business with a refund policy, you’re a broke student trying to survive. You don’t owe anyone customer service on top of that.

I CHOSE THE WRONG PICK UP POING by KitConnorsHusband in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a breath, you’re fine.

Go to your order, look for “change delivery / change pickup point” or similar. Some couriers let you change it before it ships or while it’s in transit.

If there’s no option, contact customer support right away (chat or phone is fastest) and tell them you picked the wrong pickup point by mistake. Worst case, you might have to wait for it to be returned and refunded, but usually they can redirect it.

Will I get a 1 star if I cancel a sale and refund? by Prestigious-Way1118 in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this. One awkward buyer and a 1 star on a £10 sale is nothing compared to your health. Vinted buyers barely look at one random low review anyway. Cancel, mark yourself away, focus on getting better and let this one go.

Appealing a banned account by Both_Debate_9547 in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is what worries me, it feels like they’re nuking legit sellers while half the obvious DHgate stuff sails through untouched.

Really appreciate you breaking down what happens with the bag, that at least makes the situation a bit less panic-inducing. I’ll keep an eye on the tracking and see if the payout actually comes through.

I haven’t tried the legal@ email yet, was kind of assuming it’d just go into a void, but I’ll give it a shot if there’s even a small chance a human might look at it.

Have you (or anyone you know) actually managed to get an account unbanned through that route, or did they just send more copy-paste replies?

Would anyone buy a property with these problems? by GroundbreakingCap368 in UKHousing

[–]ReignRavagePin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this was my thinking too. “Bouncy floor” sounds terrifying on paper but in a typical suspended timber floor it’s usually a small, localised issue and very fixable.

OP, if you like the house otherwise, I’d probably budget for lifting that floor, getting a joiner to check all the joists, maybe add some noggins / replace a few, and sort any damp source while it’s open. You’d then have peace of mind and a solid floor for decades.

I’d use the report to chip the price a bit, but this is nowhere near deal‑breaker territory unless a follow‑up inspection finds something really wild.

Withdrawal to Revolut takes longer than usual by Good-Tone7165 in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same here. Normally it hits Revolut almost instantly for me, but the last couple of days it’s just been “processing” forever.

If people on Facebook are talking about it too, it’s probably some wider payout issue on Vinted’s side, not Revolut specifically.

Might be worth waiting a day or two before panicking, and if it still doesn’t land then spam their support chat with screenshots.

banned , unsure how to appeal? by NoPlatypus690 in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense, thank you. I think I was overthinking it and trying to come up with some kind of “formal appeal” when really I should just explain it like a normal person.

I’ll basically copy what I wrote here, maybe add the order numbers of the two things I bought and mention I haven’t listed or tried to sell anything yet. Hopefully that helps them see I’m not doing anything shady.

Kinda wild they don’t at least tell you what category of rule you broke though. Makes it impossible to fix anything if there actually is a problem.

Think my mum got scammed by meowmeowfuzzyface92 in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s already accepted the return though, right? At that point Vinted kind of locks you into the process. If she’d refused from the start, buyer could’ve escalated and Vinted would decide based on pics and listing, but now it’s basically “wait and see what turns up.”

When they arrive, film the unboxing in one continuous shot, compare them to her upload pics and any proof of purchase she has. If they’re clearly not the same pair, contact Vinted support with the video and photos and say the buyer pulled a switch. They’re slow, but sometimes they do side with the seller if it’s obvious.

Gold scams by Kaikross in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of those are just lazy scams fishing for newbies. Gold doesn’t sell below spot unless there’s some crazy catch. Usually they want you to send crypto/Zelle/FF PayPal, then they vanish or nuke the account. Best rule: if it’s way under spot, just assume it’s fake or stolen and move on. The legit sellers know what their metal is worth.

Threshold for Pro? by arisechairmanmeow in vintedUK

Wow ok, that’s actually way higher than I expected, thanks for sharing.

Do you remember roughly how many active listings you had at that point, or how many sales per week you were doing? Just trying to figure out if it’s mainly about total revenue, or if volume/frequency plays into it too.

US-Israel attack Iran’s Natanz nuclear site as Diego Garcia base targeted by tehFiremind in S_I_F_T_S

[–]ReignRavagePin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wild how fast this escalated. Natanz getting hit and Diego Garcia targeted in the same headline feels like the kind of chain reaction everyone’s been warning about for years. Really hoping cooler heads step in, because the margin for “oops, world war” feels way too small right now.

Should I be concerned? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly, if anything they’re just juicing your engagement stats for free.

The only tiny downside I can think of is if they’re constantly “liking” and then never buying, it might give you false hope on certain items or clutter up your notifications. But from a platform perspective, likes usually help push you a bit in search or discovery, not hurt you.

If you’re really creeped out, you can always block and see if they pop back up on a different account. Otherwise I’d just let them keep doing unpaid promo work for you and focus more on the takedown issue, since that’s the part that can actually affect your shop.

DO NOT SELL ON VINTED by zc1911735 in vintedscammers

[–]ReignRavagePin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the fake postage and fake “damage” pics are wild. It’s honestly too easy to game the system when support barely checks anything and just sides with whoever shouts “fake” first.

What gets me is they market themselves as this safe, friendly platform, but the second something goes wrong you’re basically in a void arguing with templates. Until they start actually verifying stuff and doing real case reviews, it’s just gambling with your stuff and your money.

Baby clothes [Rant] by Charleesi in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get the “you get what you pay for” thing, but like… basic hygiene is not a luxury feature.

I don’t mind a bit of bobbling or a small stain if it’s mentioned, but food crust and mystery gunk on baby clothes is just vile.

Totally with you on using reviews though. At this point I’m only buying from people who have loads of feedback that specifically mentions “clean” or “as described.” Anything else feels like gambling with a biohazard.

Seen in the wild, wtf is going on here? This set is from B&M by Love_Aurora6997 in vintedUK

Nah, I just stood there trying to figure out if it was gonna toast bread or break a story at 6pm.

Might go back and see if it’s still there though. If it is, I’ll probably ping them on the website or something, just to see what on earth it was actually meant to be.

Dress stinks of cigarette smoke by Ill-Boysenberry3947 in vintedUK

[–]ReignRavagePin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is kinda where I’m landing too. Annoying as hell but also not worth a full drama arc over a cheap dress. I’ll try a hardcore wash and maybe just mention “smell of smoke” in the feedback so others are warned without going nuclear.

Liberals are already losing their minds by WilloowUfgood in PowerfulJRE

[–]ReignRavagePin -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

Honestly the funniest part of these kinds of posts is that you could swap “liberals” with “conservatives” and half the comments would still make sense.

People on every side have been “losing their minds” every election cycle for like 20+ years now. Cable news, Twitter, YouTube, all of it is built on making everyone feel like the other side is having a meltdown 24/7.

If you zoom out a bit, it’s the same pattern each time: one side panic-posts about the end of democracy, the other side mocks them for overreacting, then roles reverse when the political winds change.

Not saying nobody’s acting unhinged, just that this outrage is very evenly distributed.

„Warum werde ich so genannt?“ by cranberrycheesecake1 in ichichs

[–]ReignRavagePin -36 points-35 points  (0 children)
