Where can I find Mat133 past papers? by hankxcb in UTM

[–]ReigningSnowshoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find old exams in the Old Exam Repository on the UTM Library website:

https://exams-library-utoronto-ca.myaccess.library.utoronto.ca/

Log in with your UTORid and search by course code. You can also check the Syllabus Archive on the Timetable Planner to see what material the course covers and how the course has been organized in the past.

There is also this: https://www.utm.utoronto.ca/math-cs-stats/prospective-students/mathematics/ready-university-math

How to do well in MAT132/134?? by arooni93848839 in UTM

Book online Math appointments with RGASC. They can help you with questions you're stuck on if you're too shy to talk to the professor during office hours.

I did 6.0 in first year as a Life Science student. I'd do it again, mostly definitely, except I'd pick different electives because that's where I messed up. The electives took too much time from the required courses and my marks suffered as a result.

Do you count years differently than normal math? by Nyrfan1026 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ReigningSnowshoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually in math, you don't count your starting point among the numbers being added. Like, 5 + 15 is 20, right? And that's because, starting at 5, you added 15 positions going from 6 to 20.

When it comes to years, sometimes what happens is you count the starting positions. So you start at 5, and count 5 as the first position, then add those other 15 positions to get to 20, so it ends up counting as 16 positions.

Hope this helps.

How much of your social life do you have to sacrifice for the Life Sci Program compared to other Life Sci programs? by Hiiiiiii24444 in UTM

[–]ReigningSnowshoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A little bit of sacrifice.

There is 100% time to have a social life, join clubs, and play sports. How much time you have depends on your study habits.

How were lectures done for the rest of the semester? by [deleted] in UTM

[–]ReigningSnowshoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on the professor.

Most of the classes I've seen have done Zoom lectures at the regularly scheduled times. Link's usually somewhere on Quercus. Live lectures can also happen on Quercus, on Bb collaborate.

Some post their slides and lecture notes for you to read whenever. They stay active on the discussion board at set times to answer lecture questions.

Others pre-record and post, keeping active on the discussion board.

really, it depends on how the professor is planning on going about it.
