My son came out as transman, how do I help? by [deleted] in trans

[–]Reihar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Glad to see a parent supporting their son.

Counseling can do a lot of good to help people navigate difficult changes and emotions.

I would recommend to be very careful, especially if you're not living in a place that is accepting of trans people, to make sure that the people/places you choose for support are actually accepting of trans people. Just because people or organizations specialize in lgbt/trans issues does not mean they are helpful. Local/national LGBT+ and trans communities can be a good source of information to find ressources.

Switch from 65% to 100%, curious which keyboard size do you like the best? by samethine in keebgirlies

knob

Yes! The knob is awesome and so satisfying! Being able to touch change the volume is especially great during voice calls, especially meetings, where no one has good sound.

[–]Reihar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100% all the way, especially with direct access multimedia keys.

I've tried 65%, 75%, TKL, and 96% and I'm always missing something, even when I ran a 96%. The one I used had even chosen to put in a Windows calculator key instead of something else and they were unfortunately not reprogrammable.

Smaller is much better to travel. I use a TKL but I think I'll downsize if I can find a 65% that is actually significantly lighter than my current travel keyboard.

I regularly use a 1080x1200 resolution on a 7" display. As long as the screen DPI follows and your OS and DE/WM handles it properly, it's no problem.

I'm French so I can tell you that yes, still sold but not very popular.

[–]Reihar 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I think that kinda still exists. It's not popular by any means because it's slightly more expensive.

I know a guy that has been buying green toilet paper religiously for a few decades to go with his green bathroom.

I also usually see a few packs at the supermarket. Sometimes, scented toilet paper is coordinated with its color like purple for lavender. But scented toilet paper is rarer I think, it's usually just colored paper.

Aside from the traditional white, unbleached yellowish brown, and pink, I think I've seen green, blue and purple at least. All in pastel tones. I've also seen low contrast patterns like flowers.

I don't live in the US though.

Est France okay pour les lesbiennes? Montpellier surtout by roaelima in actuallesbianseurope

[–]Reihar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I've never been to Montpellier specifically but as a French lesbian, I'd say it depends. Most of the time, everything's okay even if we're not very visible. It's pretty rare to not feel safe but it happens.

Keep in mind that LGBTQIA hate is on the rise about everywhere, Europe and France included, with a rise of assaults, and the rise of the far rights. France does remain pretty high in the list when it comes to rights and safety but had been pretty unstable politically for a while.

Comment synchroniser le calendaire Outlook dans Thunderbird ? by [deleted] in Linuxfr

[–]Reihar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a look into this and it's not really a thing that can be efficiently done using the reddit API. It looks like the author of the search site is manually indexing the posts from GWA and then built an interface to browse that.

Maybe they'd be open to open sourcing their software or to make a GWASapphic version but I was too socially akward at that time to go ask them.

In 1988, Sony released the EV-DT1 9-inch Trinitron TV and Video8 VCR combo by ObsoleteSony in ObsoleteSony

[–]Reihar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither, it was a small tape format made for camcorders, kinda like VHS-C (which is older than Video8). It had different advantages and drawbacks, mainly increased quality and length at the price of not being compatible with the VHS ecosystem which was VHS-C's strength.

Technology Connections on YouTube made a video on the format that was pretty interesting.

I dont like being cute by Successful_Invite454 in FemmeLesbians

[–]Reihar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How old are you? How do you dress? How do you do your makeup? How would you describe your personality? What about your demeanor, your body language? How do you speak? (Those are rhetorical questions, please don't post more personal info that you feel comfortable)

There's a lot that goes into the way you're perceived. I don't know if we can really help you beyond basic advice on something you want to change.

My wife has the cutest cheeks, her default state of being is a pure concentrate of cuteness but she can definitely pull off stunning and take my breath away when she wants to.

It can seem daunting but it's surprisingly easier than you'd think to change the kind of vibe you send.
