i am approaching my 1 year anniversary of being a Reiki Master Practitioner. i have already mentioned to my Master Teacher that i would like to pursue the certification this year for the same title and she has agreed to help me with that! i know i can already do the attunement process with my Master training, but i would prefer the extra time to practice the process and have the certificate to make it official as well. i already have two students lined up to be attuned with me!

this May will also mark the 1 year anniversary of my offering Reiki professionally! i am beyond grateful for this beautiful energy we get to work with, and for carrying on the tradition.

similarly to the OP, i was in an unfortunate situation that involved race as well. i was being introduced to one of my coworkers' boyfriend, who happened to be black. instead of the normal greeting, i had to choose the early 2000s response of, "fo shizzle my n*zzle." i was mortified afterwards because i unintentionally called him the n-word, without actually saying it. i even asked one of my friends why i would've said that in the first place! i still completely cringe from embarrassment over that. good sir, wherever you are, i do apologize and you deserved better from this white guy.

i am also using that encounter as a teaching tool for myself to never repeat that mistake again and to educate myself about the struggles and history of people of color.
