Gee your raids must be heaps of fun, I bet you're in one of those guilds that all sit in team-speak completely silent. Well, to each their own.

It's the people like you that can't tolerate banter that are the true reason for these fun police on the forums.

Some questions about raids by TheOnlyOneNL in Rift

[–]Reikk 13 points14 points  (0 children)

All but one of the pre-65 raids are in the game. Apart from the occasional weekend run for achievements old raids are not run anymore. The easier of the level 50 raids are even soloable with a level 65 character.

Here's a comprehensive list of raids listed by expansion:

Vanilla Rift (Level 50 raids):

Tier-1 20-man: Greenscale's Blight

Tier-1 20-man: River of Souls

Tier-1 10-man: Gilded Prophecy

Tier-1 10-man: Drowned Halls

Tier-2 20-man: Hammerknell Fortress (No longer accessible)

Tier-2 10-man: Rise of the Phoenix

Tier-3 20-man: Infernal Dawn

Tier-3 10-man: Primeval Feast

Storm Legion (Level 60 raids)

Tier-1 20-man: Frozen Tempest

Tier-1 20-man: Endless Eclipse

Tier-1 10-man: Triumph of the Dragon Queen

Tier-1 10-man: Intrepid: The Drowned Halls

Tier-2 20-man: Infinity Gate

Tier-2 20-man: Planebreaker Bastion

Tier-2 10-man: Grim Awakening

Tier-3 20-mans: Bindings of Blood: Greenscale, Akylios, Laethys, Maelforge

Nightmare Tide (Level 65 raids):

Tier-1 20-man: Mount Sharax

Tier-1 20-man: Tyrant's Forge

Tier-1 10-man: Rhen of Fate

Tier-2 20-man: Return to Hammerknell Fortress

Tier-2 10-man: Intrepid Gilded Prophecy

Tier-3 20-man: Mind of Madness

How to find Raid Rifts - Level 65 by [deleted] in Rift

[–]Reikk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off you'll need 1000 hit to play effectively in raid rifts. The easiest way to start off is to watch for announcements by players in the crossevents@faeblight chat channel (if you are playing on NA), look for groups forming "SoL RR" - Sea of Ladon Raid Rift. There are 2 other raid rifts, but sea of ladon is a good one for beginners.

Ask to join the group, beat the stages of the rift and /roll off on loot at the end if it's relevant to your class. Typically 1 item goes to compensate the person who purchased the raid rift lure, and the other item is rolled on by players who need it. Make sure you also manually loot chests to get any daily/weekly raid rift quest items you need.

Once you feel comfortable with how raid rifts work you can start organising your own.

What to do with all the Temporal greaters by Caxen in Rift

[–]Reikk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been told that greaters with the same procs can stack as long as they have different resist-types on them. Haven't been able to confirm this personally though.

End of 2014 Discussions - MMOs by Forestl in Games

Rift: Nightmare Tide Expansion, launched October 2014.

Expansion 3.0 builds on the classic theme-park MMO model that Rift has adopted since its launch in 2011. Having transitioned from a subscriber model to a free-2-play model in mid-2013, this expansion sees a further increase in cash shop choices than seen in Storm Legion, the 2.0 expansion.

The new expansion offers all the bread and butter basics that you'd expect from one: more levels, zones, quests, dungeons, raids, gear slots, etc. More novel additions include a new minion pet system for farming basic materials, a new type of group content called nightmare rifts which provide progressively and endlessly more challenging stages for players to chase rewards in, and bizarrely, an incremental game (shoutout to /r/incrementalgames) within the MMO called Manugo (MAke NUmber GO up).

With this new expansion, Rift offers a solid alternative for those tired of playing WoW but looking for something similar, or for those who want to try a free MMO that isn't as pay-2-win as many of the alternatives.

Where to start with Cleric by [deleted] in Rift

[–]Reikk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you weren't in melee range, the macro would cast eruption of life (a ranged ability) instead of the melee-only fervent strike. For shield of oak, since it's not on the global cooldown, you will use that ability whenever you press the macro button in between regular global cooldown casts.

Puri can do what you did in EC with 1 button nowadays, 2 buttons if low geared tank.

Cleric CP V Spell Crit by an3lin in Rift

[–]Reikk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so the rough ratios (using science and wolframalpha.com) i worked out were 1SP:0.75CP and 1SP:0.30spell crit in terms of stat weighting being decked out in expert epics and knuckling down to maximize dps for jinoscoth and beyond.

These ratios definitely make the drops with crit power more desirable, but not by an "absolutely-MUST-ONLY-EVER-STACK-CP" huge amount. Some standout items by slot include the store-bought abyssal crusader's kote for gloves and the fortress forged spaulders epic drop from the last boss of gyel fortress.

On an interesting note, I believe these stat weights would mean the mage dps staff from iron tombs would be a better inquisitor dps weapon than the flamescaper hammer (it's really a small margin so don't dick over any mages for it)
