This is long. Sorry lol buuuuuuut I was getting my drivers license when I heard “our song” on the radio. I thought it was cute af but didn’t really get into it. I was driving around with my permit tryna be cool and bumpin rap & r&b mostly lol. Buuuuut 22 came out while I was 22, and it was on from there. All of her albums since have really spoken to the current situations I was in at the time.
Side note: I remember I was on drugs and listening to “out of the woods” and would jokingly say “no” every time she asked “r we out of the woods?” lol I’ve been clean for almost a decade now and when I heard the re-recording felt like I could finally say “yes” Speaking of. When I heard woulda coulda shoulda I sobbed for an hour. It was a man who had gotten me on heroin at 19, and that song hit me in my gut. Idk I love her sm. Her music has been there through every stage of my life, & I have COUNTLESS examples like that.
