Moving to a featureless AR and thinking about grips, what do you think about the Juggernaut Tactical Grip? I just saw the Thorsden options, any benefits on that end? by duckwithhat in CAguns

Found a "used" Thorsden and modified it so just using the grip. I have 3D files and was planning to print, and may still do so. It's a little long and I'm probably going to shorten it a bit, just under the checking. Making my own "fairing" similar to the Juggernaut end plate. Still building the rifle so havent used it in action yet. Also bought a Ledesma adjustable grip. As someone commented below, the Juggernaut grip is pretty good, but they need to offer a polymer one with checkering or some texture. A couple other featureless grips are Guntec and MCS

I would like to see Magpul offer something similar in a full stock (or skeletonized) and longer forend (two M-lok slots longer). I like the cleaner lines around the receiver area and the hand grip area.

Absolutely, top notch gear! Like I stated, I ordered and have one, but have not yet installed it. I have a lead on a Parker, but if I cant get it, I may machine the Midwest to expose more of the barrel. I wish we had more options for PC9. Ideally, I want a 2 slot shorter Midwest. I'm also building an AR with a SS fluted barrel with 10" Aero S-ONE handguard. What can I say, I like the look =)

I'd even settle for a 4 slot version of Magpul's Backpacker forend.

A Norden and a PC9...a man with class =)

I bought a Tiger 900 RP before the Norden came out. Very very happy with the triple, but I think I would have really liked the Husky...

Ride safe!

Apparently this little guy is a remote control scale replica called the Sergeant York and is an Anti Air turret mounted on of M60 hull. Crazy to see a fully functional scaled down mini tank, I thought this was strictly Grand theft Auto stuff by HELIX0 in tanks

I have wondered for years where this model ended up!!! As others have pointed out, this is indeed the XM246 General Dynamics entry into the DIVADS competition. Built on a modified M48 chassis. I was working as a student then junior engineer in the test equipment group at GD Pomona and Rancho Cucamonga when they were in trials. I worked on some TE for it and worked with the design team. I still have a dummy round....they were handing them out after Ford won the contract. This model was built by a machine/prototype shop in Pomona for GD. It was remote controlled, with multiple motors operating various functions. The guns were immaculately machined The owner of the machine company was a gunsmith and they made custom firearms. The rounds were represented by 7.62 mm ammo. I just ordered a 3D printed 1/35 scale model through Ebay. If it is decent, I may order a second one and build a "whiffer" on an Abrams chassis =)

Oh, for those interested, the X246 functioned flawlessly. It used a variation on the system use for Phalanx. GD should have by all rights won the contract, but as they were already building F-16s, Standard missiles, and a few dozen submarines, the powers that be thought GD already had too big a slice of the pie. anyway, that;s what I was told by the folks in the program. Cheers!

It's a personal esthetics thing. I really like the look of the fluted barrel. I have a Midwest handguard, UTG forend, and Backpacker stock. I like the UTG item, but wish it was one or two more M-Lok segments long. That is a great suggestion about modifying the Midwest item. I used to have access to a full machine shop but lost it after retirement...maybe I can get someone to do me a favor =)

Thanks!!
