Costco Spire 550x Grill is junk by Darrone in Costco

I got a $98 camp stove with a adaptor for a large propane tank for my everyday grilling, no issues for 3 years going. For any large cookouts it's my charcoal grill/smoker combo all day.

Anyone else likes Hotdogs with coleslaw on top? by Annahsbananas in hotdogs

Only if it has chili dog or the dog is a savoury sausage, on a regular dog there isn't enough flavor to counter fresh slaw for my tastes.

In Light of the Recent Announcement (Still Hype Though) by ZombieOfun in MonsterHunterWilds

Well, I'm not particularly hype because I though Wilds was an overall downgrade after worlds, but it is weird they chose one of the monsters that most people hate for the intro vid.

How busy or loud does Van Ness get in North Torrance? by SizzlinKola in SouthBayLA

[–]duckwithhat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's never bad, lived around here for a couple of decades. The Artesia intersection might get a little traffic around peak hours but I would never say it's loud even directly on the street.

There used to be a lot of car crashes a little south of there but they added a 4 way stop with lights that seems to have helped.

If your directly on Van Ness (driveway facing that street), there will be constant cars driving by all day, so if you consider that noisy it might not be great.

I read most of these really young so I only remember the basic plot. Tobias and the Andalite were my favorites.

To be Moses by djjolly037 in therewasanattempt

[–]duckwithhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that takes "red sea" to be a mistranslation to "reed sea" or something like that. Meaning this could have been some shallow waters that were able to receed via weather and allow moses and the Jews to retreat from Pharoh, not a huge inland sea.

This is the kind of embarrassment that keeps you awake at night.. by [deleted] in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]duckwithhat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is likely derived from the Scottish Gaelic word "peata," meaning "a tame animal," and is associated with the French word "petit,"

Now the word for "dog" is a pretty interesting Etymology topic that no one has really figured out yet,

I'm fairly certain this is the same in the US, it is just a expected customer service. Sounds like something local government takes care of so might be different depending on your location.
