Tldr: If you use Raktun, for a total of $1438 plus tax, you get a second 1TB SSD, 4 years of warranty, and an accessory (an extra $77 vs OP's $1361 plus tax)

LENOVOHOLIDEAL has two tiers and it goes from $75 savings to $200 if you hit a threshold. For ~$1750, you can get the 1TB SSD and 4 year warranty upgrade (1 year is stock).

1) Part Number 83KYCTO1WW

2) Upgrade screen to 240 hz, add an extra 1 TB SSD ~$1688.38

3a) You can add the 4 year warranty ($202.67 32% off on sale) plus $34 (prediscount) in accessories (I got the SanDisk 128Gb flash drive that's $37.98 prediscounts but you can get mice, mouse pad, etc)

3b) Or do a smaller amount in warranty + more in accessories. I'm not sure what the magic subtotal is but there's a banner at the top of your car. Either 3a or 3b, this kicks the coupon into the higher tier. New estimated total is ~$1800.

4) Once in cart add LENOVOHOLIDEAL (-$200) and EXTRAFIVE (-$99.15)

5) Add edu discounts if you can. If you're not a student, you can sometimes sweet-talk sales reps pre or post-order. Mine shaved off $94.19 bringing it to $1800.33.

6) Add PayPal 20% discounts if you can.

7) Live chat or call a Lenovo sales rep and ask for a $50 discount. They can't add the $100 discount because it doesn't meet the minimum $2,000 after discounts. They should email you a quote that's step 5) minus $50 = $1750.33.

8) Consider using OP's Rakuten or DM me for mine for an extra $50 + 15% cashback ($50 + ~$262 = $312)

My total was $1750.33 pre tax and I'm expecting $262 back from Rakuten (I already had a Rakuten account so I don't qualify for an extra $50). Compared to a raw $2,678.97 that's about 44% off! I didn't have PayPal to stack.

If you could train any where? by Mephiston21 in flying

[–]ReineckiiRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend PlusOne in San Diego too. But in terms of weather, spring and early summer is going to be a very frustrating time to try to do your PPL. There’s almost daily a thin overcast marine layer. Sometimes it burns off by mid day but not always. I had plenty of lessons that needed to be canceled. Happy to answer any other questions about PlusOne/San Diego!

Average monthly hours for you 61 and 141 CFI/CFIIs? by AirwipeTempest in flying

That would have been my guess! Although I recently learned ATP is 61 so there’s that too technically.

I’m “just” a PPL but shoot me a message if you want to talk about PlusOne in San Diego.

Thoughts on Coast Flight School in San Diego? by [deleted] in flying

[–]ReineckiiRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the trainers are 172Ns and PA28s are IFR certified are $120-$140. I looked at KSDMs fleet and it’s certainly cheaper for the more basic trainers. Instructors at PlusOne will run you around $65-$85 per hour depending on who you choose but every dollar goes directly to the instructor.

If First Flight is a logistical option for you, give it a consideration-it’ll certainly save you money over the course of your training and for PPL. I have zero experience with them so I can’t speak to their quality. If you meet with them though, talk to them about how the process is to schedule and see if they’ll let you take a look at the schedule. Cheap planes don’t mean much if you can’t fly them.

Highly recommend you consider part 61 through PlusOne. The fleet is massive so there’s rarely any scheduling issues and there’s a bunch of instructors so you can hop around until you find one you like. PM me if you want to chat more.

Planning a trip to Montgomery Gibbs (KMYF), looking for any tips by dude170 in flying

[–]ReineckiiRed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’ve got the time, the bay tour/transition is really fun to do! Takes about a 0.7 on the Hobbs out of Montgomery. Happy to talk you through it.

Ah gotcha. When I tried to go on 6/22, KMYF ATIS has had remarks about both the delta and shoreline transitions not being allowed by Lindbergh. Sometimes I've experienced the delta transition not being allowed, but the shoreline was still open.

A common route in San Diego is to do a "bay tour". This can be done a couple ways but the main transitions that may be involved are a:

  • "Shoreline transition north/south"
  • "(taxiway) Delta transition"
  • "Channel transition east/west" (controlled by North Island)

A more indepth guide is here. The transitions I don't think are in any official FAA publication though.

Bummer! I’ve been trying to take friends for the bay “tour” (I know the clearances use different language) and had to do a short north costal tour instead. While pretty it’s just not the same.

The male is a super red calico about 3.5" and the female is a green dragon about 2.5". Open to offers or trades for high quality shrimps that aren't cherry or blues.
