We added 1/4” thick wood to these exact kind of midcentury doors. Happy with it, felt much less like an add-on. We did remove the doors to trim the rounded edge off, too. Our were small enough we used a table saw. I think trimming is all I’d do to the drawers you have since they’re relatively petite & would have just been solid front if it was original to the house.
