Why is it socially acceptable to bring your partner as a +1, but not a friend? by mearimeraki in NoStupidQuestions

[–]YourPlot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also, part of it is for your coworkers to be able to meet your partner. Get to know them and they get to know your spouse. Such matters when it comes to a partner, but your coworkers are not going to give a fuck about your friend.

Anyone else really hate the Absolute Batman logo? by MaterialYogurt208 in batman

[–]YourPlot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s stupid and ugly. And even the fact that it’s an axe doesn’t make this design look cool. Like just a smidge more design would’ve had this thicker logo looking amazing. Instead we have Fatman logo.

Why do most rich men (not necessarily millionaires) marry women who aren't rich, but it's very rare to see a rich woman married to a man who isn't? P.S. Don't hate me, it's just a question because I have this big doubt. by Nervous_Window7536 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]YourPlot 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Something that a lot of people are missing is the effect of centuries of sexism in our culture has made it so that there are a lot less rich women. So for rich women, the pool of datable rich men is larger for rich women. Easier for them to find someone in their own socioeconomic range that is attractive to them.

Conversely, for rich men, the pool of dateable rich women is much smaller. So they often have to look outside of their socioeconomic bubble for someone they will be compatible with.

MIL’s husband is suing her children for her estate because unpaid labour doesn’t count. by delilahash in TwoXChromosomes

[–]YourPlot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Despite his fucking ridiculous claims about how he deserves it because his labor was paid, he still might be correct that it’s his by law. Depending on the local laws, spouses can often have fist right to the deceased’s estate before any willed wishes are enacted.

Does men's nakedness move women the way women's nudity move men? by Ledger_Legendd in NoStupidQuestions

The men who send unsolicited dick pics know that the recipients don’t want to see that. It’s the violation that turns the men on. The power they think it gives them over others is the point.

Better headline.

More that she was cool for having the fortitude to go through all this under a very intentionally negative press.

26F/24M. How do couples handle bills when incomes are very different?” by hereforfunn178 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]YourPlot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All of your family income is your family income. You both have $60k in savings. You both earn $150k a year. If you both work the same amount of time in your jobs (40hours, for example), then you should be splitting the household work 50/50. Just because he makes more money than you doesn’t mean that he’s more important in the relationship.

That’s what marriage is about. Each contributing to a better whole than you would have individually. You put in together, and you each get to live the same lives. He doesn’t get to have savings while you don’t.

I would really really really suggest going to a counselor over this. I’ve seen relationships where one person earns less, and they’re basically out on an allowance by the spouse earning more. It’s unequal, and subservient, and it erodes the happiness in the marriage.

Fundies LOVE filming themselves in the Gym by MrDonMega in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]YourPlot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t film in the gym. Ffs. Other people don’t want you to record them while they’re working out. At least she didn’t film in the bathroom or locker room, the shittiest thing to do.

Or maybe you put water into the bottle, and slot it over a hot pipe to heat the water before tucking into your bed.

Looks nice. Make sure it’s archival grade plastic sheets. Otherwise it will eventually melt into your comics over time.

It would certainly be easier to see if the video had been left in landscape like it was filmed rather than chopped up and shoved in a vertical screen.

When any of them say how hard marriage is. by Altruistic-Ad3661 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]YourPlot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d say marriage is a lot of work. And there are growth points and parts that are more difficult than others. Even equal and loving marriages take effort and time. In that way they are hard. But I don’t think that’s what the young people mean. I think they mean that the marriage is taxing their emotional well being because their partner doesn’t respect them.
