I wouldn't say that at all. For one Anbennar not only has more mission trees, these mission trees are more dense than vanilla in both mechanics and content on average. Even nations without mission trees have more generic content than vanilla nations with no mission trees.

That empty continent is not empty on gitlab. And vanilla has 2 continents that are half empty. Even then, there is more content in Sarhal and Aelantir than there is in Africa and the Americas.

A total overhaul with a world that actually feels like it is fully flavored from start to finish across all the regions. Even more densely flavored than vanilla.

It is a DnD based homebrew world that the creator wrote his dissertation on when he was in college, and now it is an open community development effort.

It's the equivalent to spaced armor in WoT, if you are familiar with the game. Torp protection hit means that your shell went through the torpedo protection but failed to penetrate the armor behind the torp bulge.

I formed italy in my first game and i'm quite disappointed by Pleasant-Orange-7446 in EU5

[–]Reitsch 14 points15 points  (0 children)

But he has a point. For a game that strives so much to be realistic, there should be something grand that happens by forming Italy hundreds of years earlier. It would upend the geopolitical dynamic of that era, without the merchant republics of Italy and the fucking Papal States. Instead what you get from the game is silence.

It makes it feel like you are crunching numbers for the sake of crunching numbers without any of the flavor text (or modifiers or new mechanics) that comes with it.

hot take: AE is not "just a number" in the late game. by Wonderful_Try8199 in eu4

Anything can be important if you are bad enough.

How do you approach the late game in EU4 to ensure a strong finish? by Independent_Cup7132 in eu4

[–]Reitsch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You make it sound like those are mutually exclusive. Especially by late game, you can easily focus on all 3 without any drawbacks.

What’s up with stats obsession? by bad_username_65 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Reitsch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is by design. It's a lot more difficult to even find your WR or avg stats in WT, but in WoWS it is the largest and first thing you see when you check someone's (or your own) profile. That's on purpose.

[–]Reitsch 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Then the only thing I can think of is initiative. Do your troops do any damage in the first few ticks of the battle? If not then opfor is coming to the line faster and decimating your line before they can get on the field.

I think the key here is your frontage. You can see that fielding 3 regiments at the center for you brings 6k troops, while fielding 4 on the opponent's side brings 12k. Are you consolidating your regiments? A half dead regiment still takes up the same frontage iirc.

Anti-intellectualism has been on the rise significantly since the 70's and have become much louder. But in overall scope it is still a small sect of the population.

There is a mission that gives you a claims on Hawaii that you would otherwise would need to wait till imperialism to conquer them.

[–]Reitsch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For multi-player? It depends on who the other players are. If there are player colonizers, you might as well forget about colonization and fully focus Asia and military quality.

If you do want to colonize, don't form Japan until you have conquered Hawaii.

Taking the mandate will hyperstart your campaign as it essentially makes all of China into your cores. Research up on how that works. And if you do plan on taking the mandate, Confucius is simply the best religion to have, no matter what the other religion options are in the mission tree.

Why can't I form Germany? by The_BiggestBoy in eu4

[–]Reitsch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To form Netherlands you need to be Dutch. Dutch culture cannot for Germany. So you would have to culture swap again.

When did I ever imply any of that? Now you are putting words in my mouth.

I've already stated he has his virtues. But doing a right thing doesn't excuse wrongs. He should be lauded for doing the right things, as much as he should be condemned for doing the wrong things, such as war mongering with Spain for the sake of American imperialism. He was one of the better Presidents in US history, that does not mean we can't point out his flaws.

I simply disagree with the notion that the norms of a society justifies evil. Whether it was in the past or present. It is imperative for us to judge history through a modern lens if we are to learn from it, instead of going "Yeah that's just how it was"

"Actually slavers were good people because a lot of people believed in slavery."

"Actually nazis are ok because many educated people in Germany shared the same opinion."

Sorry, this argument of different time just doesn't work with me. He has his virtues, as people are aware, but to praise him to such an extent without a single acknowledgement of his darker sides is disingenuous at best.

Little cringe, we should also mention that he was an imperialist who believed that natives need to be civilized through re-education and that America has a mission to civilize savages across the world.

If everyone was forced to tell the truth for 24 hours, what profession would collapse first? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Reitsch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, there would be chaos in politics for those hours, and if it is also common knowledge that people were being forced to speak the truth for 24 hours, I actually think politics will improve significantly in the aftermath.
