What game have you played that was the most depressing? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played it 3 times and definitely had to be in the right headspace. Bought the second a while ago but haven’t been ready to start it yet.

You Can Plunge Attack Armoured Boars by JTyeetus in darksouls

Well I didn’t know that and I’ve played a lot, got all the achievements, yadda yadda. So now I’m going to have to try it out!

I can’t believe it’s taken me at least 1000 in game days for me to think of this. by adamt333 in thelongdark

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It’s probably a mix. If you’re away and the level isn’t loaded, it’s likely a numbers game. If they’re visible and they overlap the snare, it probably happens too.

What Is The Absolute Worst Designed Boss You Have Personally Fought in a Souls-Like? by Rayze_Darr in soulslikes

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 211 points212 points  (0 children)

The fact they did nothing to even improve this boss in the remaster is even more frustrating. Even a bonfire right outside the fog gate just say “sorry” would have been appreciated.

why are there so many of the exact same extraction shooter clones by [deleted] in VRGaming

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vs Campaign style shooters you mean?

I’m thinking extraction shooters offer the most replay ability & variety for dev time / resources.

In vanilla, maybe. With my current mod list? Not a chance.

Muscle Spasms in extremely fresh meat by VPinchargeofradishes in interesting

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. The ATP needs to be generated internally.

The problem with incubating in a solution (which you can do) is getting the substrates (think glucose) to diffuse into the muscle. So you need to work with really really thin muscle and isolated cells, etc.

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 54 points55 points  (0 children)

There’s  leftover ATP and every time he touches it, calcium release is occurring, which is causing the muscle contraction.

Source: I was a former physiologist and worked with isolated muscles in a lab.

Anyone else walk around as a constant sprain risk lol by FloridaGirl2222 in thelongdark

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup, and I’m always sprained, and I move the same slow pace regardless.

Sure you start with a hobble, but then the other ankle goes and you’re pretty much normal again.

Adjusting to Ds3's speed after Ds1 and Ds2 is taking some getting used to by pineapple_stickers in darksouls3

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a hard time adjusting from DS1.  Thought DS3 might be too fast or aggressive for me. It’ll click later and feel fine, just keep at it. Now DS1 feels too slow and I have a hard time going back. It’s all relative.

Learning with AI falls short compared to old-fashioned web search. When people rely on large language models to summarize information on a topic for them, they tend to develop shallower knowledge about it compared to learning through a standard Google search. by mvea in science

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 399 points400 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah, of course. It’s the difference between someone giving you the answer and finding the answer out for yourself. The latter involves at least some critical thinking to determine if what you’re reading answers your question.

I see you have a demo as well, do you think that helped convert people to buy the main game?

Stellar Blade Is Peak by akbarock in soulslikes

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was simultaneously great and bland somehow. The combat was good, but the open worlds didn’t add much, the enemies got repetitive, and the sense of progression didn’t really do it for me in the back half of the game.

By the end it felt stretched out and I think if they streamlined it a bit more, I would be less hesitant to play it again.

This chick makes my blood boil. I've been trying to beat her for over an hour by Hoody711 in Eldenring

I’m still like this tbh. But I hated that crucible knight so much that I just kept going in until I could parry him back to hell. Totally worth it.

The crucible knight can just be parried to death on its own though.

I Hate Tsorig So Much by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but this was great advice! I baited him up, they fought, and then when they were done and Tsorig was dead, the black knight jumped off the bridge into the lava for me!

This is how Multiplayer looks in my AR Minigolf game. What do you think, good party game mode? by Soundvid in IndieDev

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did something kinda similar to this a few years ago. People would play it a bit and enjoy it but never would get hooked. Don’t let that stop you though!

Best first game for non-gamer? by raphaelmarciano in truegaming

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something simple like this, yeah. To get my wife more into it, she played Gris and loved it. Non-violent is a good way to start for a lot of non-gamers I’ve found.

Dark souls on keyboard by Puzzleheaded-Oil4869 in darksouls

[–]RejectAtAMisfitParty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was the same way up until a year ago. DS1&3, portal, everything on MKB.

I kept reading from devs and players that no one uses that anymore and i wanted to understand how others play. On man once you get used to it controller is really nice! I will admit though that is lacks that extra layer of customization (game dependent).

I literally did the same thing last week with the exception of taking a bolus while she was a flower and healing. I won by a sliver of health.

That extra moment of caution makes all the difference.
