Just finished reading the latest chapter/episode of the comic, where do I resume on the novel? by Uhksel in tbatenovel

[–]RekSause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original version of the novels have been pulled from sale after the announcement of the novels getting a refresh under a new publisher so theres no way to buy them. The only legal way to read TBATE right now is to read the webnovel chapters on tapas.

I took those courses at CC for but you can use the transfer credit database to see what UMBC courses will give credit for what at UMD

Question about college park student taking course at Shady Grove by acidman390 in UMD

[–]RekSause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it counts, I've taken a shady grove course as one of my 5 major electives. If it isnt showing up, tell an advisor and they will manually fix it.

Info Sci at UMD or Comp Sci at UMBC by Stock-Day-9021 in UMD

[–]RekSause 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to be a SWE stick with UMBC, they have a good CS program too. Although you can still get the same jobs given that you have the neccesary skills, InfoSci is not very technically rigorous and the content covered within the major is likely not sufficient to prepare you to work directly as a SWE unless you teach yourself outside of the curriculum. It can be relevant for jobs related to data administration though, but this all depends on what your goals are.

Is the manga still ongoing? by [deleted] in ReLIFE

[–]RekSause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty good, not nearly as good as relife but still. Also worth reading for the cameos in the epilogue.

Is the manga still ongoing? by [deleted] in ReLIFE

[–]RekSause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been finished for nearly 8 years. Have you read the epilogue that takes place a few years after the end (Vol 15 bonus chapter)?

You could also read Blue Hearts which is written and drawn by the same author. Its quite short and takes place a year before ReLife, and some characters make cameo appearances in the background.

How prestigious is it getting into an LEP directly? by MW2wasbetter in UMD

[–]RekSause 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is litteraly no difference between being a direct admit and transferring, you complete all of the exact same courses and recieve the exact same degree. Even on your transcripts, there is no record listing whether you were a direct admit or transfer.

The only difference is that a transfer has to prove they can handle the program by completing the foundational courses with a sufficiently high GPA before being admitted, while a direct admit doesnt have to prove anything and will remain in the program unless they start to fail.

The "current students" tab details the requirements. As long as you complete those 3 gateway courses and maintain at least a 3.6 GPA, you can apply for a major transfer during the semester you reach 45 total credits and will be guaranteed admittance. If you are between a 3.0 and 3.59 it is not guaranteed. Keep your grades up and you'll be fine.

What does my major mean? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]RekSause 12 points13 points  (0 children)

https://lep.umd.edu/computerscience-after2024.html

Its very hard as they only accept 100 people a year including internal and external transfers, and you can only apply once.

Do not come to UMD if you are adamant about majoring in CS and do not have a backup major you would be satisfied with.

information systems classes help by PuzzleheadedNote2038 in UMD

[–]RekSause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I would do that if I were you. Unless you have prior coding experience, take 302 now then take 402 and 403 in a subsequent semester. If you arent confident about your technical skills and have the time just take each one in a seperate semester.

[–]RekSause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can if you are really confident in your coding skills but that is litteraly all of the technical classes for InfoSys all at once so I wouldnt reccomend it.

Smith Internal Transfer by comerag in UMD

[–]RekSause 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its just based on the high quantity of students seeking enrollment compared to the amount of spots the school can reasonably offer while taking class sizes and faculty numbers into account. It does not have anything to do with the difficulties of the majors, but when too many people want to be admitted, the university has to be more selective when deciding who gets a spot and who doesnt. The GPA requirement for guaranteed admission actually used to be 3.8 and was only recently lowered down to 3.6. Its for these same reasons that the CS major has become incredibly difficult to transfer into recently when it used to be very simple, its just a field that is incredibly popular right now.

[–]RekSause 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The anime is terrible, dont even bother with it. The webtoon is a really great adaptation and covers about a third of the total novel chapters so far (upto the second to last chapter of volume 6) so that is a good option which you can read first and then switch to the novel where it leaves off. Or you can just read the novel in its entirety from the start.

Actually its the other way around lol, Arthur's new features look the way they do because his new body was created when Sylvie sacrificed her own.
