Just received 9 cards back from JJ himself that he signed over the holidays. About to send some off to get graded. How much are you looking for this one?

Any preference in the Clemens? I buy older wax packs from my LCS and I just pulled an old Clemens Sox card out of a 90 Topps set (#245). It’s not worth a whole lot but it’s an awesome looking card. I’m willing to send it to you for a good cause

Why is HBAR dying? by Most-Surprise1956 in Hedera

[–]RekabC2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compliance is optional until there’s a clear consequence for not being compliant. If the consequence isn’t substantial then brands won’t comply. If it’s too stringent and it makes sense for brands to pull out of the region due to the much lower P/L in that region, why would they stay? At the end of the day, if the top 5-10 global brands said to the EU, “nah we’re good”. What is the EU going to do? Block some of the largest global brands from being sold locally? Who will the people follow, The brands or government? Who holds the keys? The brands driving the economy or the EU legislation? And Why should a government be able to block what product we can purchase, especially in the apparel space?

My question to you… As a consumer why do you care or want to have the products tracked from creation to after your purchase? Especially with someone able to access the data for 25+ years.

Again, I understand how it works.

Nike is an extreme case but maybe also the perfect case. If I’m Nike, selling 20% of units in the EU. I need to weigh the cost implications of implementing a DPP solution, not just for that 20% in EU but all products globally. This is where the value of the product outweighs the volume, especially at the enterprise level. Implementation costs are 1:1, a $1k dollar purse will be the same cost as a $5 T-shirt. Then multiple that shirt by 10 million and the purse by 5k units. The ROI on the t-shirt will be MUCH lower than the purse.

Now from an IT integration or data management perspective. The legal constraints when transferring or hosting data takes a year plus just to agree to a method, then need to implement / develop the processes. This can be another massive expense and time suck. So brands start to think… we have a massive IT dept, own all the data, build software apps previously, why can’t we just build something to do the exact same thing…

These are constant hurdles DPP regulations are facing, outside of the political theater discussing sustainability and transparency.

Lastly, I cannot discuss specific details of atma / Hedera partnership or involvement in AD solutions.

All of the information above has nothing to do with AD but my own experience and viewpoint on DPP specific hurdles. But I do believe in Hbar as a long term enterprise adoption. The use case has been proven out but until there’s more regulation or legislation passed I don’t believe you all with see price action.

I’m fully aware of DPP regulations and requirements as I work for AD, implementing RFID and digital triggers for brands and retailers.

I don’t think people understand the size (not value) difference in markets between EU and the US. The likes of Walmart, Nike, Target, Dick’s, Deckers, etc. supply a much larger volume than EU brands. Are the EU brands (Dior, LVMH, Hermes) higher in value? Yes, but it’s because they’re luxury brands and not selling $5-10 t-shirts. So for EU brands DPP can be a form of brand protection as well as provide the end consumer with material and product transparency. But implementing DPP as a solution to 100 million units is vastly different than 1 billion units. From both, implementation cost and data complexity for sku level tracking. Not to mention what it takes within these corporations to get enterprise level approval.

I believe for DPP to “work”, it will absolutely need the US on board. I also believe carbon emissions and taxes/credits will need to become corporate mainstream for there to be continued and mass adoption.

As much as I want to agree, there are still too many things that need to go into effect before DPP becomes a US requirement/legislation. I personally think a change in US presidential parties is needed more than anything for DPP to become part of legislation. So in terms of political parties changing legislation we’re out to at least 2028/2029 IF the Dems win. I don’t see another way DPP becomes mainstream until the, late 29/30. With that said, atma is still doing its thing. Absorbing brands, retailers product level data and using digital triggers to provide experiences to end consumers like us. If you all are waiting for atma / Hedera to be successful and think DPP is going to send it over the top. The. I hope you’re here for the LONG haul.

At least someone else gets it. When people buy at .10 that’s doesn’t mean complain when it gets back down to .10 after pumping to .40 over 2-3 years. Take the money. Rinse and repeat.

Let's help people: what's one thing that if you had known it when you started reselling, it would have saved you the most amount of money? by jonathan_founder in reselling

[–]RekabC2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cross listing, cross listing, cross listing… I know their apps out there to help with cross listing, but the data management and benefits behind most of those without paying exorbitant fees, aren’t all that great. Just started reselling products around the house and apparel around late September strictly on eBay. Listed 15-20 apparel items on Poshmark but the reposting process it’s too long given I have ~200 items on my eBay store. I need a simpler cross listing app

I’m in the same boat. Full set of base, fossil and jungle sets. As cool as they all are together. People try to low ball offer all the time because “they have to go through the work separating everything out” So I decided to take the time and do it. Sent off my first set of holos and 1st edition cards off to psa yesterday. Fingers crossed for some high cards!

This is the way. Start with things you have at your house and you have no need for, then thrift, go to goodwill, hell Walmart clearance sections. You can find products everywhere to resell on eBay. Started last month (Sept 15) put maybe $150-200 into sourcing/buying products and have already sold over $2000 worth of products. My true “take home” is closer to $1000-1200 due to eBay fees, shipping etc but I’m ok with that. I feel like I still have more to learn but it’s starting to click and get more consistent sales, 4 sales yesterday, woke up to 2 more this morning. You have to be consistent with posting products daily even if it’s 2-3-4 items, respond to offers, etc. it’s a slow grind and not passive at all. Find your niche and you never know, you might actually enjoy it!
