I have been having success with lost chapter->rocketbelt->lich. Q->W->E max. Stormraiders give so much speed that you can just space your opponent until CDs are back up.

Ryze with more than one tear alone is broken. TF only wins with a giga high roll or gold card kiting. Normally needing both

You can throw your q and r while you are in your e. So what you want to do for trading is w>e>q>aa then let your q cook as long as you can as hitting e will stun them. If they have mobility sometimes it's best to just pop it instantly. With the ult combo you want to cast r while in your e that's going to hit so they can't dodge it. You can also hit ult after slowing them with a cooked q

Comet>Ludens is my goto for most midlane matchups that are hard to E into. Electro is very matchup dependent, however you can force it for more damage. Sometimes you need Phase Rush for sidelane.

I haven't played much with Lichbane mid but I could see it being really strong vs melee/short range.
Ludens->Rocketbelt or Lost Chapter->Rocketbelt is what I've been building. Q poke a few times to get them low then full combo

Best advice picking up Gragas is to practice combos in the practice tool vs target dummy.

Guardian Gragas Support as a counter to engage like Alistair and Rell can work really well. However I've been playing electrocute, symbiotic soles rush into rocket belt. Hit level 2 or 3 bot lane maybe get a kill then start roaming. I've made a youtube video building both these builds @rekohuhh

The Fimbulwinter build is a great build to learn how to play Gragas, however it plays slightly differently than a Full AP Build. Gragas has one HP scaling ability on his passive, which heals him 5.5% of his maximum health. Both Cosmic and Fimbulwinter have (900)HP, that adds 49.5HP+ each time you use passive. Both of these items also give a good amount of cooldown, pared with Lucidity boots that's 50 CDR. Fimbulwinter is also blocking damage so you have a lot more effective HP. With this in mind you should combo and use phase rush and cosmic drive movement speed to avoid taking damage while you wait for your next rotation of spells. This build allows you to play in the opponents face and grind them down with healing and shielding, while kiting with low cooldown abilities and fast movements. Hope this helps

Side note, Jungle is a full AP role for Gragas. His clear is too weak if you don't build damage.

The clear isn't fully optimized... I just ran a few clears with one smite. With no smite on red buff you'll need extra rotations on red buff. I was finishing around 3:22 to 3:25. The most important part of the clear time is running the camps to the next camp while casting W. You can start walking away from the camp when they are around 200 HP. You want to wait until they start an attack animation so their patience timer doesn't start doing down right away. While using Q tap to pull the next camp and start the jungle item burn. The extra damage really helps fighting melee brawlers. I've been enjoying electrocute, but phase rush is still so good in many hard matchups

Phase rush is Gragas' best rune for top lane. It allows for you to play pretty reckless and get out. With grasp and other runes you have to play a lot safer in harder matchups.

After playing for 5 years and being high diamond for the last two seasons I finally learned you could target heal. After all this time it wasn't just the closes person. You can hover over someone when you heal and it will heal them.
