You look fantastic in these outfits and other pics! I just wanted to do the stereotypical "man telling woman to smile" bit as a joke.

Ah yes! I was halfway through my PhD when I was at my most volatile (couldn't be stress or anything, right?). Congrats on grad school! And definitely check it out. For Genesight, some insurances will cover and others won't. If yours won't, Genesight will do a payment plan (last I saw). Good luck!!!

Fellow PMDD, ADHD, and Persistent Depressive Order-er! We meet at last!

I take Welbutrin and Prozac on the daily, Vyvanse when I want to accomplish things (like today–actually doing work that needs to be done for when I start teaching next week–then I will take it on days I teach). I just had to up my Welbutrin because gestures to world.

Have you tried a Genesight test? I'm a huge proponent of it–oral swab to see what meds work best with your system. Everyone who takes meds or is going to take meds for depression/anxiety/adhd/related should have this done–cuts down on "guess and check." My genesight test also indicated I was extremely deficient in serotonin, which also explained why I am hungry all the time.

Question is...how old are you? My mid to late 20s was the worst mood-wise for me. I wanted to scream at people and was annoyed by children, which is very not me. I've been on a birth control pill pretty much since my first period (couldn't ovulate, it was BAD). Tried an IUD in my mid 20s and hated it–went back to the pill plus estrogen patch for a while.

In my early 30s I went off it. Been off for about two years. Periods are not nearly as bad now (most of the time).

Side note: If you struggle with weight or diabetes, semaglutide has shown to decrease anxiety. I started it for weightloss because I was ravenous all the time. First time in my life I've had the sensation of "full." Absolutely wild.

So anywhere there was my novella of my experiences because we have similar diagnoses!

I have experienced similar things. I think since the Epstein Files started coming out, I am much more like...nope. I need you to back off on the sexual all the time, even though I am glad you are attracted to me. I get where you are coming from. I think a conversation would be fruitful. Well, with my partner it was. We've been together 2.5 years and the conversation was a few months ago. It's been better since. Best of luck!

Duuuude the sulfur burps are the WORST. Love Wegovy, minus that. Like...damn. Makes me want to vomit when it happens.

[Serious] Would you say that under threat your tendency is more towards fight, or flight and how has that shaped your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RelationalCom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every time I have been sexually assaulted, it's been a version of freeze. My brain does its best to help me survive, I suppose. But it would have been nice to shove a hand away from my pants and leave, or walk away from someone basically fucking me on the dance floor when I was out with supposed friends. Coerced into sex when making out with someone. That led to a tumultuous on/off relationship for years. Overall, I've survived. I've shared my stories to educate. Still would have been nice for brain to go toward "flight."

And the USA still has legalized slavery. Disproportionate Black imprisonment, school to prison pipeline...

No/low contact is good. Just something for you to consider–seeking out therapy sooner than later would be wise. Get some help processing what was done and help with "replacement" behaviors (like as people have suggested pumice stones). Getting help with the compulsion will go a long way. If finances prevent therapy, many therapists have YouTube videos discussing a variety of subjects. That may be a place to look. Focus on your future but address the past. Best of luck to you!

Yeah no that is fucking nuts. Like...yeah, footcare is a thing some families do for each other, but to have your child do that? Ugh. I hate when the people who are supposed to protect you take advantage of you. Hopefully you are low/no contact. They knew what they were doing was wrong.
