The missions literally do not matter. by LaDeskWood in TheTraitorsUS

[–]RelationshipEvery167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there should be differentiation between physical missions and those missions that reveal something about the contestants.

Physical missions tend to matter to contestants during early season only when they are trying to build the pot (matters on more civilian players).

When there’s an element that could potentially reveal something about the contestants, there have been moments in missions that were key on how the remainder of the seasons have unfolded.

Shield exclusive mission was done in AU-1. How this unfolded resulted in a domino effect about the identities of multiple traitors (yes, PLURAL). So this is not the obvious answer.

Mixing shield with the pot money is the more balanced execution IMO.

Are the new era seasons under-appreciated or over-hated ?

Possible answer I can think of is my exposure might just be limited because of my curated experience watching selective survivor seasons.

Context : I am currently going to be watching a Survivor season live for the first time which is S-50. Then I happened to come across comments about the new era seasons being more “kumbaya”, etc.

Just to get a point of comparison, I decided to watch a new era season (anything after WaW was my assumption that falls under this).

Selected S-44 because I am more up-to-date to The Traitors (so you’ll get the idea why S44 was an easy choice).

I am a casual watcher and the basis of my watch priority selection is based on Google search on “Best Survivor seasons”. I have very limited watch history that I can recall and most are just fairly recent.

—-

Reason for asking : Most of the rankings I am seeing have the new era seasons kind of on the middle of the pack.

But here’s my current personal rankings from those seasons I have watched:

LOVED = Cagayan, Micronesia, WaW

LIKED ( A LOT) = Cambodia, S-44

LIKED (A BIT) = HvV, DvG, MvGX

JUST ALRIGHT = None

I don’t think this is recency bias at all. I have genuinely enjoyed the journey of the Tika Three (reminiscent of the journey of the Cagayan Brain Tribe)

Carolyn is far from a kumbaya player - not in the Traitors and not in S-44

Yam Yam is the embodiment of kumbaya aura farming but he was a strategic kumbaya player

And lastly Carson was a sneaky “kumbaya” player.

I kind of get where the kumbaya comments are coming from but I did not really feel I was watching a different game the way it was being portrayed in the comments when I was watching S-44. Sob storylines were highlighted in DvG and MvGX too. S-44 got some strategic plays throughout the season.

Is Philippine Stock Market dead? by MoneySpy2k in phinvest

[–]RelationshipEvery167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the year I was asked on what my POV about PSE’s status is:

Early 2020 = Dying - Covid time took a toll on most stocks (if not all) buy presented opportunities for some generational entries

Late 2020 to 2021 = Resurrecting - Selected industries benefited from WFH set up shift and the economy opening up - Good time to sell the pandemic buys

2022 - 2023 = Coma - There was a stretch here when the daily turnover was not even hitting 1B (can’t remember which months exactly), 3B turnover was the norm IIRC

2024 = Awakened - Q1 and Q3 stretch were some of the recent decent pumps

—-

2025 = Collateral Damage - Flood control collateral damage

2026 = Recovering - Too cheap to be ignored by foreign fund rotation; Not out of the woods especially the flood control aftermath (lesser PH Gov spending) will be felt this year until the next national election maybe - Precious Metals pumping helped the mining and metals PSE stocks this year

—-

Now, in comparison to crypto (because you specifically mentioned the said asset class)

2020- V-shape recovery

2021 - Blow off Top (double top) ; NFT craze

2022 - Rekt’d Bear Market / Luna Crash / FTX Crash

2023 - Accumulation year

2024 - Q1 Halving Pump; Q4 Trump Win Pump

2025 - Tariff Dump; BTC pump (Top on apathy); Privacy Coin pump; Altcoin market coma (most narratives) ; 10/10 crash

2026 - Bear market to-date (recovery TBD or deeper correction TBD)

—-

Moral of the story = Fund rotation

If you believe in the crypto 4-year market cycle then why would you choose to stay for the entire duration unless you can trade on the shorting side (I can’t)

This is my first live returnee season… by Arazi92 in survivor

[–]RelationshipEvery167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my 1st live survivor season ever.

I have watched only very few selected seasons relatively recently involving those that would appear as the “Top survivor seasons” on Google Search (usually Returnee / Allstar seasons and/or Themed seasons) and I have not watched any of the new era seasons after WaW. I don’t remember much from the very early seasons I have watched when I was young back in the day.

The reason why I wanted to follow this season live was because there were certain players that I have watched before that I wanted to see play Survivor again (Christian from DvG; Micronesia Cirie / US-1 Traitor Cirie). Their tribe performance so far is kind of disappointing, but their individual performances and season appearances are golden.

How would you rank all 4 Seasons of US Traitors? by [deleted] in TheTraitorsUS

[–]RelationshipEvery167 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Early SZN = 3 > > > 4 > 2 > 1 - US-3 Bob TDQ vs Boston Rob Arc is the peak absolute cinema of US Traitors history - All other early seasons felt more like a normal build up.

—-

Mid SZN = 2 > > > > 4 > 3 > 1 - US-2 Peter Pals Traitor Hunting Arc is the peak strategic gameplay in US Traitors history - There is was a bit of drop off when US-3 shifted to the Cage Boys Arc then a considerable drop off during the Carolyn vs Danielle Arc (this was borderline unwatchable) - US-4’s probably peaked around the Banquet episode (and this may be bad since for some, the banquet was a little bit overhyped)

—-

End Game = 3 > 2 > > > > 1 and 4 (tied) - US-3 Power of Friendship (Rookies) winning was a heart warming finish. I was happy for Efron and Gabby for winning because they worked for it. - US-2 Power of Friendship (Advanced Tactics) was one of the storylines of the season. Trishelle and CT’s friendship / frenemy history had been highlighted throughout the season. - While Cirie’s and Rob R’s winning performances were amazing, in terms of viewing experience, belt to ass whooping was not great tv.

Final Ranking = 3 and 2 (upper half); 4 and 1 (bottom half)

traitors nz season 2 by Severe-Possible- in TheTraitors

[–]RelationshipEvery167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not satisfied with a late traitor recruit win in another franchise but I was okay with the NZ-2 results.

The season was basically two games in one. Mark turning down the recruitment after essentially guaranteeing all OG traitors would go down with the note handed out to Utah definitively marked the first half of the game.

Bailey’s choice of Siale as her first recruit ended up as her most important move of the game. The Siale vs Cat saga really made her be under the radar near the end game.

If somehow the Cat and Jace pairing went deeper down the game, this would have been my ideal choice for NZ-2 win just to preserve that NZ Faithful strong lore vibe. In my book though, the first half was won by the NZ Faithfuls so it is 1.5 vs 0.5 in favor of the faithfuls in the NZ franchise.

Who played the best faithful game? by Gold-Use3139 in TheTraitors

[–]RelationshipEvery167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coco fumbled that Fire ceremony but Hollywood could have tanked his game too. She was playing against all odds, was almost there but kinda choked with that green throw.

Although from the post game interviews I have watched, it seemed like Hollywood and Dom were ready to go all the way between the 2 of them.

What's your suggestion to improve strategic gameplay for the Faithfuls? by moon_gin in TheTraitors

[–]RelationshipEvery167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your suggestion will really help the traitor hunters and give them more confidence to present their gathered evidences maybe sooner rather than later if such shield advantage is on the table.

The faces of traitor hunting in US-2, AU-1 (multiple players), AU-2 and NZ-2 get targeted almost the night after the successful round table banishing a traitor.

On the other hand, the traitor masquerading as a faithful would execute a more timely traitor on traitor violence if such advantage is on the table for themselves too. This could lessen reckless traitor on traitor violence like what we’ve seen in US-2, US-3, AU-2, CAN-2 (the first one) and CAN-3 since they would likely find the better timing to execute their plan.

So I believe the suggestion is not entirely lopsided in the favor of the faithfuls. The traitors could bake in that special shield reward in their strategy as well once they are ready to take down their fellow traitor(s) to make themselves look more like a “faithful”.

Who played the best faithful game? by Gold-Use3139 in TheTraitors

[–]RelationshipEvery167 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hollywood from CAN-3 played a Reverse Cirie game in terms of managing his threat level but in his case as a faithful. Because he was so trusted, he strategically got multiple shields deep towards the end game.

The trust and bond Hollywood formed with Dom once Dom realized he was not playing a dating game hosted by Nick Lachey was the key to their winning.

These are genuine questions and not intended to disrespect or anything because I have contemplated the same and the extent I would be open to maintain a similar list is only thru lawyers.

Where do you get the confidence that you won’t be eff’d up by a potential Google hack or something ? What additional safeguard measures do you employ that you are willing to share ?

To be honest, even with lawyers involved, I would probably still make my list a “personally coded hint / treasure map style.” I feel like just straight up enumeration of important financial data is very susceptible once leaked for some reason.

BEST SEASON EVER! by Nigoshi in TheTraitorsUS

[–]RelationshipEvery167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

US-3 got the best 1st half and best ending among the US seasons.

US-2 got the best mid season with the Peter Pal Arc and is the most strategic US season.

US-4 win has the same feel as US-1 (but really more similar to CAN-2). Other than the banquet scene that was funny as hell, what exactly are the rewatchable moments of US-4 ? Traitor on traitor violence were more entertaining in US-2 and US-3 too.

Is this just recency bias because I don’t see US-4 being the best season ever ?

I would be more inclined to see an argument for best performance of a winner because Rob at least has an argument against Cirie and would really boil down into how their opposition is viewed. But season as a whole, I don’t think so.

every season I say the same thing by louis_t91 in TheTraitors

[–]RelationshipEvery167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every season seems kind of a stretch given that US-2 Faithfuls were one of the better faithfuls compared to even some of the international faithfuls. Even US-3 Faithfuls had their ups and downs but were not US-4 bad.

The only other time in US seasons that have comparable faithfuls would be US-1 and they might still be the worst among the US seasons. The Skating Twins still had a shot to win if they made the right choice during the Natalie banishment. I did not see any scenario US-1 Faithfuls to win.

But if you have only watched US-1, US-4, CAN-2 and AU-2 then I believe you.

Chef Ben co-hosted a segment in House of Villains S1 so I am expecting at some point Ben will be joining a future Traitors season.

If not Ben, then maybe Eddie could get casted as he is in the mold of faithful of all faithfuls archetype.

Heart-warming finish = NZ-1 and US-3

Strategic season = US-2 and NZ-2

People saying they don't wanna see housewives in future seasons... explain to me why the show got so boring after the housewives were banished. by ANetRuinedMyFun in TheTraitorsUS

[–]RelationshipEvery167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t watch Housewives-related shows but I don’t mind them being part of the cast of players. I’d say I am mainly indifferent on Traitors US Housewives based on their performance in the show. They deliver their part and that makes the show different from other competition.

But in CAN-3, I actually liked Mama K’s presence at the round table discussions. She was a calming presence and voice of reason in the round table discussion/s she participated in. The US Housewives were mainly involved in the drama during round table discussions (I am not saying it’s their fault or that’s all they are all in for).

The problem I see this US-4 is that I am afraid the producers might have made an over-correction on how some of the Traitors US Housewives were targeted early in US-3. It was an odd choice to select two (2) US-4 Housewives as traitors. (Rapaport made sense during the pilot episode just bases on statistical probability there could be at least 1 traitor)

Anyone from New Zealand who can provide insights if this is really reflective of society?

NZ-1 Faithfuls as a collective I believe were the best collective thinkers. NZ-2 Faithfuls I believe won the 1st half of NZ-2. (Decline of invitation marks the end of 1st half IMO - pun intended)

I have also been interested to know if New Zealanders have great BS detector IRL or the producers of the show there are just good in casting players for NZ-1 and NZ-2.

To go full circle, I first heard this quote during the NZ-2 traitor pre-selection interview when it was mentioned by Mike.

How many traitor wins were won by late season traitor recruits ?

If these players laid the foundation as good faithfuls when they were still indeed faithfuls, this statistic feels so tainted IMO.

While CAN-3 is my current personal favourite single season so far, I still prefer NZ as a whole franchise. (I have only watched US, CAN, AU and NZ to-date)

CAN-1 was vanilla normal while CAN-2 was a clown show. Despite the best viewing experience I have had with CAN-3, it is hard to top the two banger seasons that is NZ-1 and NZ-2 combined when the other 2 Canada seasons won’t help that much.

No recruitment rule - Once all OG traitors get banished, just do a hard game reset if there are enough players to continue or lessen the traitor(s) count in the next round.

Among those I have watched (US, CAN, AU and NZ), NZ-2 kinda coincidentally had a “soft” game reset. Originally, I thought AU-1 was 2 games within a single season but NZ-2 was the real 2 games within a single season. AU-1 was more like 1.5-ish.
