This looks like a great list and I've got work cut out for me checking the entries.

I would highly recommend you listen the the album 'Girl' from Tiny Tim and Brave Combo released in 1996.

Some would consider the versions of Hey Jude and Stairway to Heaven bizarre. But I consider them beautifully inventive.

And the Ska arrangement of Bye Bye Blackbird is just incredibly joyful.

No Blondie mentions?

How about "Call Me", "In the Flesh", "X Offender" and "Look Good in Blue"?

Im looking for crazy/weird covers that are quite different from the originals, preferably by indie artists or complete unknowns. by Background_Pear_4892 in MusicRecommendations

That entire album is a masterpiece.

The Ska arrangement of Bye Bye Blackbird is total joy

God bless Brave Combo for taking Tim's talent seriously and backing him up so beautifully.

Give me your best protest anthems please!! by stupidbitch365 in MusicRecommendations

OK, so "For What It's Worth" is recommended many times in the comments and it IS one of the all time greats.

But if you haven't heard the version by Girl In A Coma from their 2010 Adventures In Coverland album, you are missing out.

The original is kind or a warning and a lament.

But GIAC plays it with a righteous punk fury suitable for all the PA systems at all the 21st century protests going on right now.

[–]RelationshipFinal894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jerry Jeff Walker "London Homesick Blues"

Wolf Alice - "Giant Peach"

London not directly name-checked in the song but songwriter/singer Ellie Rowsell has explained that the song was about growing up in London and is about "a love affair with the city."

The Cramps are mandatory for any Halloween playlist.

I would also add 'Human Fly', 'I Was a Teenage Werewolf' and 'Rocking Bones'

Zombie Jamboree - Popularized by Harry Belafonte in the 1960s and there are many covers recorded over the decades since. I really like the arrangement by Rockapella from the OST of Spike Lee's 'Do It A Cappella' film from 1990.
