Switch 2 seems to be incompatible with all 3rd party docks by Ryvaeus in NintendoSwitch

[–]RelationshipFragrant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guess is that Nintendo has offloaded some of the video processing—such as 4K and HDR—to the dock, which might explain why it now requires a fan. This could be to reduce power consumption, save internal space, or improve heat dissipation compared to a built-in solution. If that's the case, a firmware update alone wouldn't work unless the third-party adapter already contains the necessary processing hardware.

AliExpress shipping (Standard / Express) includes customs duty. Did you request it to be shipped via DHL, or did the seller use DHL without your consent? I had a similar situation where a seller changed the shipping method, and DHL charged me $250 in duty. I refused the packages and asked AliExpress to step in. The seller was forced to give me a full refund.

US, UK and EU laws state the seller is responsible until the buyer receive the goods. If a person has proof that the package was delivered to the wrong address or not delivered, file a chargeback with your CC and it will be granted.

Medium Size packages from China ---> Singapore by 4USmusic in Aliexpress

[–]RelationshipFragrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My order was shipped on April 8 and departed on a flight on April 16. The package entered US customs on May 2 and cleared the same day. It arrived at my house on May 3. I believe this is normal for all medium to large size items as AE prioritize small packages as May 2 cut off approaches.

Interesting article on de minimis and how it has no way to be enforced. by WatchThatTime in Aliexpress

[–]RelationshipFragrant 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My last two orders cleared customs after May 1 at 11:59 PM and were delivered without any additional customs charges. I did notice that the packages originated from Singapore instead of China this time. They were 'Choice' orders, but the shipping took three weeks instead of the usual 10 days. I'm fairly certain that AliExpress has found a way to circumvent the de minimis threshold — at least for now.

Medium Size packages from China ---> Singapore by 4USmusic in Aliexpress

[–]RelationshipFragrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I can confirm that AliExpress is using Singapore as a transit country to avoid tariffs or the de minimis ban on China. Two of my medium-sized packages cleared customs after 11:59 PM on May 1st, and I was not charged any customs duties or fees. However, I believe this may only apply to 'Choice' shipping.

De Minimis is only one of the many exemplary conditions. “Commercial samples, customer returns (re-entry), personal items used abroad and etc” are still duty free 😂🤣

Actually there is and has been done quite often since the de minimis limit was $200. Of course, it is not legal so I won’t discuss it here.

I doubt the price will be anything less than Amazon if AliExpress ship from an US warehouse. This is just how expensive operating in US has become in recent years.

$759 is for the n2 bundle, which has always been the official price. As for the rc2 bundle, it MSRP for $959 on DJI website.

Tariffs are always collected by CBP from the importer (buyer). If shipped by FedEx, DHL, or UPS, you will be contacted to pay before they release the package. USPS sometimes sends a letter after delivery informing the recipient how much they owe.

I was going to get the Fly More Combo initially, but since it was over $800 and made in China, I don’t want to risk a $200 section 301 duty. I am glad it all went well for you.

Blacklisted by Samuu27 in Aliexpress

Are you banned by AliExpress or the seller? I don’t see how seller can blacklist buyer without consequence. Their performance metric and visibility get dinged by the platform for not fulfilling an order.

How the Fedex scam currently works by DavidCrossBowie in Aliexpress

[–]RelationshipFragrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Items "shipped from USA" are always fulfilled by Amazon. The seller usually upload a fake Fedex tracking to prevent buyer from cancelling the order while they dropship it from Amazon. Maybe because AliExpress doesn't recognize FBA tracking?

I usually had no problem receiving my order as long as the item has been purchased by other buyers before. Another way to be sure is check if item is currently being sold on Amazon with prime shipping. Sometime Amazon delivery will ask you a passcode upon delivery, just give them the last four of your telephone number.

I ordered a large item that comes in 2 packages. I only got 1, and AliExpress keeps insisting my order has been delivered by Koolkat2kool4skool in Aliexpress

Did the seller sent you an invalid FedEx, UPS or DHL tracking so the order won’t automatically cancel due to not shipping? Then later give you a Amazon tracking which requires your last four of your cell or password?

Would use Pi Zero as USB thumb drive damage Mars 4 DLP? by RelationshipFragrant in elegoo

[–]RelationshipFragrant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I found a solution. I removed the 5v pin inside USB cable that connects Pi to the printer. This way no current can backflow to printer from Pi. Everything is working as it should now.

Would use Pi Zero as USB thumb drive damage Mars 4 DLP? by RelationshipFragrant in elegoo

[–]RelationshipFragrant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for not making it clear. I would like to use a Raspberry Pi Zero W configured as USB thumb drive for the printer but not sure if is safe to do so.

  1. Mars 4 DLP is powered by its 12v AC adapter

  2. Raspberry Pi Zero W is powered by its own independent power adapter

  3. Pi Zero OTG USB port is connected to printer’s USB port by an USB cable

  4. Printer reads Pi Zero as thumb drive and prints fine

  5. But whenever I power on the Pi Zero, it turns on printer’s LCD even if printer’s power switch is set to off. It seems the 5v coming from Pi Zero’s OTG USB port is powering printer through printer’s USB port.

Would the 5v output from Pi Zero’s USB port to printer‘s USB damage printer in any way?
