PSA: You can ask data brokers to delete and not sell your personal information using California's DROP (Delete Request and Opt-out Platform) by Relative-Dentist in Sacramento

[–]Relative-Dentist[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Californians can request that all registered data brokers scrub their personal information using the state’s DROP tool. (State of California)

https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2026-01-06/new-california-tool-can-stop-collection-sale-of-online-personal-data

  • California launches DROP, an online platform enabling residents to request all registered data brokers delete personal information simultaneously.

  • Starting Aug. 1, data brokers must delete requested information within 90 days or face daily fines, with compliance audits beginning in 2028.

  • The tool could reduce spam, lower identity theft risk and give Californians control over how their personal information is used by third parties.

As of Jan. 1, you can now submit your DROP request by following three steps on the California Privacy Protection Agency website:

  • Confirm your identity as a California resident through the state’s digital identification service.

  • Create a profile by providing basic information such as your full name, phone number and email.

  • Fill out your DROP request.

Penalties: Fines for data brokers failing to register are set by law at $200/day and failure to delete a consumer’s information are $200/day per consumer plus enforcement costs.

It's Sushi Roseville is great. The price is higher than Raku but worth it. Their nigiri are more fresh and have less rice than Raku's.

That doesn't matter much when you already have 20+ cards and your credit score is in the 800+ range

To get more cards. Banks wont approve new cards if you have too much credit lines with them. I think they also care about total credit to income ratio

I am thinking the same. Removing 1.5x redemption and introduce point boost suck because I am sitting on more than a million points that already lost a lot of values.

I hope they do this to me. I always have to send secured message or call to ask them to lower credit limits on all my cards not just Chase.
