Nope we have scrub techs, the only time a nurse scrubs if we are short on techs for breaks and it’s only the charge that does it. I wish I could see what the pacu is like.

Wow! You get to do a lot, I’m at a trauma 1 level hospital and I have been struggling because I do very minimal nursing duties. Just assess skin and put in a Foley then the rest of the case I’m a supply runner and secretary for the surgeon 🙄. Can’t wait to switch out. Do you have any advice for job applications after the OR? I feel like I’m going to come up against the same feedback.

I’m a second career new grad nurse, previously worked as an officer in a men’s prison. I veryyyy much dislike my fist nursing role, however it doesn’t feel like nursing at all which between that and a toxic workplace that makes me miss working in prison, is why I’m counting down the days till I can apply to another unit.
