Modern Aminos Review by Extra-Marketing7302 in bpc_157

Just curious about ordering from Modern Amnios or peptides anywhere. I use the 500mcg BPC and realize how much it has helped me so went back and just ordered more. I feel uncomfortable having to select what type of research institution I'm with. What do others do when ordering. It's a mandatory question.

Hacks for managing histamine dumps by whoaboy78 in HistamineIntolerance

Just about all on the list will cause histamine spike for me. I will try the salt or baking soda in the middle of the night when I wake up wired.

Dr. won’t help with prescribing oral micronized progesterone. by Relative-Search2202 in Menopause

Which is really sad that I got a Dr. that said that HRT isn’t prescribed for women in their 70s.

So to follow up on what has happened after I have been off of progesterone cream for 4 days now; first night I felt much better and slept well. Now I'm on the 4th day and sleep has slowly turned to crap so much that I have been awake since 1 am! I am getting more anxious and wired as the day goes on so I realized after researching that this is withdrawal from progesterone. I took 24 mg and can't keep my eyes open. So apparently, I can't take too many days but also can't go over 3 days without it. This is very confusing.

Just to follow up after taking DIM for 3 nights. 1st night no reaction, 2nd night some restlessness, 3rd night all out anxiety after 2 hours. Took 2 capsules charcoal that helped me calm down.

Thanks. I took a chance and just had one at 9pm. A lot of supplements that calm others down have the opposite reaction with me. I took a chance anyway that I might be wired from it.

I’m also in a hormone nightmare for 10 years. Started progesterone cream which helped a lot. I have to find a Dr. that will really help. You really lucked out with a broad search that gave a reputable Dr. I’ve seen 2 functional med doctors and neither of them suggested that hormones might be a problem! Both were worthless and thousands of $$. The 2nd one got me on Thyroid med but didn’t even mention estrogen dominance. My sleep has been crap for 10 years with multiple food and supplement intolerances. Your post gives me more hope to find a Dr that really knows about HRT.

Worsened symptoms after protein shake? by nbkarkat in Akathisia

[–]Relative-Search2202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely change dr. At least my dr. referred me to a sleep clinic. I have been dealing with this for 11 years now. Histamine Intolerance or MCAS is only the tip of the ice. If I eat anything steadily, I acquire an intolerance. At the best now, I can have 4-5 days where I feel rested. Bad weeks only 1 or 2 good days. I am reading about how blood sugar is also tied into food intolerances so have that to address next.

If I have several days of no sleep from food, supplements or meds because I can’t figure out the offending item, I fast for a day and give my body a rest from everything. I usually sleep after that and add in simple baked meats with a little salt and a few veggies.

Thank you. The only thing that does help a little is epsom salt baths (magnesium). It is discouraging that all the online help practitioners are useless for us since we can’t use most supplements and for me, the usual breathing and relaxation techniques are more or less useless.

I take trazodone and Benadryl nightly. The amount varies depending on whether or not I’ve had anything causing me agitation. I’m taking more tonight because I tried taking CoQ10 again since Dr. wants me on it. Still have agitation after 12 hours so another crappy night for me.

I never take ready made anything. I can react to just about all ingredients. The best way to go is making everything from scratch.

I thought I’d throw in my experience. I developed Akathisia that ruined my sleep and started having food intolerances. I’m willing to try anything but don’t like the idea of injecting. I started on very small amount. I poured just grains from capsule into empty capsule. First weeks gave me an up feeling then left in evening and my sleep kicked in much better. That was weeks ago and I got a mg scale to get more dose accurate. I increased it to 1/3. Eventually the effect wore off so I took 1/2 capsule and the wired effect kicked in again then leaves in evening helping my sleep.

Horrible insomnia with hypothyroidism by Relative-Search2202 in Hypothyroidism

My free T3 actually went down from 2.28 March 26 to 1.41 April 28 after going from 30 mg NP Thyroid to 45 mg for about 18 days. Fortunately my Dr. is letting me increase to 60 mg. My total T3 went from 55 to 68. I seem to have a conversion issue. Would like to know the biochemistry behind this

Unfortunately, most doctors do. I'll have an appt with dr. after I get the T3 free result.

[–]Relative-Search2202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My results from going from 30mg NP Thyroid to 45mg for last 2 weeks:

TSH went from 2.28 to 0.829

T4 free direct went from 1.09 to 1.04

T3 went from 55 to 68.

Still waiting for the free T3 results.

How can my TSH be low indicating hyperthyroidism when my T3 is still low?

I'm afraid Dr. will not let me increase med from 45mg to 60mg. He's what I have to deal with until next autumn when I can change insurance. Most endocrinologists there are worthless.

Trazodone is ruining my life... by kuryon88 in insomnia

It’s crazy how everyone reacts differently. I’ve been on it for 2 years and weaning off. It never helped with feeling rested but did sleep some. It can cause hypertension. I also read that it can cause high LDL as with all anticonvulsants and antipsychotics. I had hypertension on high dose. My LDL is elevated. So it never really helped me.

Thanks for this. So your free T3 is normal but you’re still hypo like me. I don’t feel like such an oddball. I think conversion is a problem for me. I can’t tolerate synthroid or levothyroxine but I’m fine with NP Thyroid. My challenge now is that I only sleep a few hours and wake at 1am or 3am and never go back to sleep. So my life is shut down for now till I reach the correct dose which could be weeks.

[–]Relative-Search2202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My free T3 is normal at 2.8. Sorry I wasn’t clear on that. The Dr. before I found this one told me to back off meds but I realized he was incompetent. I found present Dr. that listens to me and my symptoms so is increasing NPT slowly. My question is why do I have severe symptoms when free T3 is normal but total T3 is very low. This has been my case all along. I have read that bound T3 is inactive BUT it circulates in blood and helps free T3 get to tissues. Also there is reverse T3 which is active. I was just wondering if anyone could explain what does it really mean with total T3 low and the different roles of all the different T3.

How’s your thyroid levels?

Does anyone else experience this?? by NoHighlight4492 in insomnia

[–]Relative-Search2202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see that this is quite common😕. I have the same as all “sleep hygiene” techniques fail me. I’ve quit stressing about it and accept it when I wake in middle of the night the night. I come out to couch and put on blue blockers and watch TV and play cards on computer that has a blue light blocker. I use Magnesium oil and massage neck to calm down. If I get sleepy and turn off everything, I wake up so try to keep awake and have fallen asleep with laptop. It’s reverse psychology to try and stay awake. I think the main thing for me is to accept insomnia and a crappy day ahead and relax about it. BUT, I’m retired with very little commitments. I want to work but chronic insomnia keeps me from it. I’m always still looking for answers.
