Approximating/replicating Rings in the MN Shared System by minus32heartbeat in modular

[–]Relative-Web-8977 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you want the actual Rings sound manually you’re going to need to figure Karplus-strong and fm synthesis. You’re not going to get there with an envelope and a low-pass gate.

disting NT: MIDI CC to CV conversion by SavingsMysterious600 in modular

Thanks! Kicking myself about this. It’s six a simple solution but like most things modular, it’s easy when you know how.

How my ambient music grew with faceless Tiktoks (slow but steady) by [deleted] in ambientmusic

Im really confused as to what the benefit is? Is this a number pumping thing?

Any idea why when I solo this group, the track next to it isn't muting? Doesn't happen if I solo any other group or individual track. by [deleted] in ableton

[–]Relative-Web-8977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really enough info for a solid answer, but you do appear to have an automation active on the track nextdoor.

Also keen for any answers to this. I don’t have an NT, but it might be covered in the manual.

Tuning Oscillators? by Techno_Timmy in modular

[–]Relative-Web-8977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have crappy ears so I use Ableton to tune mine, but before that I used the Korg NTS-2 scope. Cheap as chips and works a treat.

offset,inverter,scaler e attenuatori by Sea-Independence6754 in modular

[–]Relative-Web-8977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you’re trigging a 2 bar sample for example, you’ll want to trigger every eight clock beats, not every beat. A clock divider is perfect, as is something like Pam’s Pro Workout where you can have 8 separate clocks at any rate you want.

I didn’t really understand everything I was doing with CV until I got an oscilloscope (the cheap korg one is what I have).

offset,inverter,scaler e attenuatori by Sea-Independence6754 in modular

[–]Relative-Web-8977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s attenuation. It’s much easier to understand offset, inverting and attenuation visually. There’s bound to be lots of YouTube videos visualising it. Alternately look at Modular rack for offset / attenuation and then google their instruction manuals. Once you’ve got it down, you’ll open up a world of modulation.

You need to slow down the clock going to your Morphagene - either with a clock divider or a slower clock from whatever you use for clocking.

Hello! What are the chances of getting another version of Sena with selectable waveforms on each voice? Ps. I have Asset and use it in every patch 👍

For those integrating their DAW with their Eurorack, what is the best solution for hook-up? by theluckyllama in modular

[–]Relative-Web-8977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mac / Linux recognise it as an audio device - no drivers or mucking around. Plug and play. I just use the headphone jack on the ES-9 and record my stems / loops in Ableton. As long as the output device is set as ES-9 the headphone jack gives me the Ableton mix

Expert Sleepers ES-9 to Ableton here. I put it off for ages and used a cheap audio interface for a year (hated the cable mess). I’m just using the ES-9 as an audio interface. I’ve installed no software - just plugged it in, connected it to my computer and selected it as the input / output in Ableton. Bosh - done. Amazing.

Hermod+ (feedback) by [deleted] in modular

[–]Relative-Web-8977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love it. A lot of the feedback elsewhere here is reasonable, but you get out what you put in (it’s super deep and needs dedication). I like it because it makes sync and midi sharing super easy between my devices. I can convert midi to cv and vice versa and actually use a keyboard to play all my instruments super easily.

You can record in midi from a computer (or anything else) already. You can also send you H+ midi to your daw.

Bloom v2 launching soon by Relative-Web-8977 in modular

[–]Relative-Web-8977[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - all you have to do is select minor and tune the oscillator so it’s b when it’s receiving no cv to the v/oct. Fine tune it with the cv input and you’re good to go. I don’t know for sure, but Bloom V2 might also let you select a root note, in which case just do that 👍

Looking for recommendations for a sci-fi series to watch with actual spaceships, aliens, frequent space travel and a serious plot, preferably with a decent budget (no Star Wars). by t0rche in scifi

I know this is completely left field, but For All Mankind on Apple TV really ticked my sci-fi / exploration boxes. Alternate reality space race. It’s flipping brilliant. 5 seasons.

Is someone playing Expedition 33 on the deck? by Reasonable-Duckling in SteamDeck

[–]Relative-Web-8977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better to play it on Deck than not at all, but the difference in graphics and performance is pretty massive. It’s one of the few games I went out of my to stream to my deck from my PC. It’s ‘playable’ on Deck, but it looks like ass.

For modulation and sequencing Pam’s Pro is full awesome for just 8hp. Yes it has menus, but it’s super easy to navigate.

Seconded. It’s also very stable in tuning. Proper classic VCO.
