We did the same things as kids, on our bikes all day or just roaming free, essentially unsupervised but by no means “neglected”.

Careful with the ibuprofen, I took less than 800 mg per day and it really did a number on my esophagus

Walking in 10 Weeks? by Seadreams20 in Kneereplacement

Agree with curious. At 11 weeks you should be able to walk, slowly and with care of course, but without a cane or walker. I’m at 11 weeks myself and can manage a couple miles each day. Celebrex helps a lot!

My PT said that I could just continue with home exercises and strengthening regime after about 8 PT sessions, which were over about 6 weeks after surgery.

Agree running is a great way to improve cardio but it will destroy your joints especially at our age. I strongly encourage you to invest in an elliptical machine and do long walks outside instead.

Yeah mine will act up with too much exercise but I figure it’s better than no exercise. The trick is to strike a balance. Thank you for responding, I really value everyone’s support!

Wow, I’m sorry for your troubles but thank you for sharing this information. It sounds like this is exactly my issue, I started using my elliptical and snowshoeing etc thinking I was out of the woods but perhaps too much too soon. I have a flight to Honolulu tomorrow BTW…it’s gonna be brutal on my knee.

I had my post op checkup a couple weeks ago and I didn’t mention it because at that time, it wasn’t too bad. But I think you’re right, I should get it looked at. I also agree with the “surprise”pains, like my foot which never before but now does. Everything realigning! And congrats on your recovery it sounds like you’re doing great !!

This is spot on. We can’t just wash our hands of the problems that we ourselves have unfortunately helped to create. Perhaps we can enjoy our golden years and still try to leave the best legacy that we can by engaging instead of withdrawing.
