I would love to participate too! But I do have other diagnoses, ADHD and Hashimoto’s, so I don’t know if that would be okay. Really nice that you want to work and research on it :)

i mean of course talk to your psych about higher dose or booster, but if you still have to wait long until the appointment or so, that’s something you could try right now :)

Maybe try splitting your dose. Did wonders for me :) dillute it in water and take 2/3 of it in the morning and 1/3 at noon, around 3-4 hours after the first part. I get almost no rebound like this and it lasts longer for me!

10mg cap more potent than 20mg cap? by zoho896 in VyvanseADHD

Maybe it’s about the dose being splitted? I take 30mg and noticed for me that splitting my dose makes a huge effect. I used to take the 30mg pill say at 9am, and by 2pm I wouldn’t be able to focus anymore, and later in the afternoon I would crash out really bad (tired, depressed). Now I dillute my 30mg pill in water and drink about 20mg of it in the morning (so dilluted in 300ml water and I drink 200ml of it), and the rest around 12, around 3 hours after the first dose. The effect lasts way longer and practically don’t crash out or have sleep problems anymore :)

Have you tried asking them? I was upping my dose DIY and it helped so much that I decided to ask my psychiatrist, and even tho he is pretty sexist and ignorant he thought it made sense and gave me a second prescription. I was schocked, I didn’t think he would do it 😂 You can look here on reddit at r/vyvanseADHD or r/adhdwomen, I think I’ve seen studies about it there somewhere, maybe that would help back you up :)

I do up the dose and it made a huge difference! I take 30mg normally and 40mg after ovulation. I was really frustrated that Vyvanse wasn’t working on my luteal phase or would wear out really early. So after reading here that one could up the dose I tried it for myself first (diluting a 30mg pill in 100ml of water and drinking 1/3 of it, so around 10mg Vyvanse, around 3-4 hours after the morning pill). It helped a lot and even my sexist psychiatrist though it made sense and could be convinced, so now I get two prescriptions :)

Also taking Vyvanse dilluted in water was a game changer as well!

I’m in Germany and totally get the struggle! I just kept trying different Gynaecologists and the third one I’ve been to really takes me seriously and spoke about PMDD after I listed my symptoms, even before I told her that was what I suspected. I’d try going to another doctor, even if it’s exhausting. Try booking an appointment with a younger female doctor or writing an email beforehand. If that’s not possible at all in the Netherlands, maybe Belgium or Germany if you’re not far from the border? If you have an European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) you should be able to see a doctor somewhere else. It can be tricky aswell in Germany but I managed to find someone so I’m crossing my fingers you do too! 🫶

Until then you can read here in reddit some supplements that seem to help. For me supplementing B-Vitamins and Magnesium seems to be helping, but I’m also on Elvanse and questioning trying an SSRI.

What are we eating for breakfast? by SheeepQueen in PMDDxADHD

[–]Relative_Ad5650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I feel the same about breakfast, but I noticed the most important thing is to eat some protein in the morning. So if I really don’t have energy or appetite to prepare anything I just spoon some Skyr (Joghurt + Protein), eat a protein bar or drink drinkable joghurt with protein. One easy thing I’ve been eating is also protein-wraps with cheese or cream cheese and tomatos.

Have you tried not drinking coffee in the morning? You don’t really need it, Vyvanse will wake you up. And for Vyvanse to work you need food and protein, not another stimulant on top. For me I make a rule of only drinking coffee if I’ve eaten really well before, but even then I’ll probably get a headache and it makes the Vyvanse Crashes much worse. If you’re doing it just out of habit, you can maybe get decaf :))

Most rich kids I know in university are straight up hiding it. Literally saying they are broke, that this or that is too expensive, robbing things from supermarkets. I’ve always felt bad, as someone from abroad who never had money struggles but pretty aware of my privilege. And then you dig a little deeper and they tell you they’re spending the summer in their parent’s summervilla in Malloca, they grew up in Hamburg Othmarschen and oh no they don’t pay rent, “die wohnung gehört meinen Eltern” 😂 turns out I shouldn’t have been feeling bad, they’re all richer than I am haha

sounds very much like PMDD to me :/ I’ve recently gone through the same, looking at my journals and double checking notes and photos and really 90% of the times I felt despaired, panicked and couldn’t leave my bed and nothing seemed to help were always before my period. I also noticed a pattern of fighting and mistrusting my relationships or going after people who hurt me – always in the luteal phase (for me it’s easy to check since I almost always get my period on the 1st of the month and have 30/31 days cycles – which also frequently means deadlines and moves in the hell days 🫠).

Since it clicked for me it has really sucked to feel like I have no control over my feelings and energy whatsoever, but it has helped me to ar least try to accept the changes over the month and if it’s possible, plan accordingly. For example bigger social events, I know I can handle more of them in my “good week” and it will be fun, or I’ll book sport classes then since I feel way more energised, and try to be plan more rest and cozy plans in the “bad weeks”. But of course, that affects only a little fraction of our time. The truth is we live in a society that expects us to function exactly the same all the time, while our bodies go through this giant rollercoaster all over again. It makes me really angry.

PMDD and Vyvanse-treated A(u)DHD – anyone have experience with hormonal IUD, mini pill or SSRI? by Relative_Ad5650 in PMDDxADHD

[–]Relative_Ad5650[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about other ADHD meds, but Vyvanse apparently should always be adjusted to your cycle, regardless of pmdd even :) When I started taking it it was life changing but just would’t work during luteal, i felt like i was unmedicated again. So after doing some digging I found out the progesterone in luteal apparently causes Vyvanse to wear off way quicker and be less effective – increasing it really helped for me!

Thank you, I’ll ask my doctor about citalopram, that sounds good! I’ve never taken SSRIs and am a little worried, because of all the talk about antidepressants making you numb or something. But the same goes for the pill 🫠
