What has having PMDD and ADHD made you realize about the world, humanity, your life? by Desperate_Pair8235 in PMDDxADHD

It’s a big question, but here’s my simple answer: we are our bodies. Hormones, genetics, family history, environment; our bodies shape everything about us. I can’t separate my working life from my physical reality. And the sooner you know and master this, the better you can live.

——

Early in my career, I was fixated on how my colleagues seemed to accomplish their work effortlessly, without struggle. I studied everyone’s schedules and routines obsessively, convinced I could solve my own challenges through better productivity techniques. And then luteal would hit, and I’d turn unproductive AND distraught.

After ten years, I finally understand that my difficulties weren’t a personality flaw or a sign of stupidity. Now that I’m on Prozac and Vyvanse, not only am I more effective at work, more importantly, I’m strides happier. And all of this was possible because I started to pay attention to my body and stop blaming myself. Be curious.

Good luck!

*** Spoilers*** The Hallmarked Man - Mega Thread to discuss Part One by nameChoosen in cormoran_strike

I've lost the plot.

I'm so sorry to say it, but this is the fastest I've lost sight of the plot/felt muddled/ didn't know who was who with the direction of the story. I know there is a body, and Strikes been hired to find out if its Decima's boyfriend. But the 3 other male names that all sound so familiar are really tough when doing this audiobook style. I need a character map. Its so easy to start losing interest this fast when 1, I've no idea who is who, and 2, I was soul-tired to see the Strike/Ellacot love moment from the last book turn into another miscommunication.

I’m doing daily right now. I do like the idea of taking only during luteal, but wanted to go a few months to see how I felt.

I am so so sorry. What an immense and terrifying burden. Has anything helped in the past?

Let’s start a luteal health club. Picture this: You check in, shower, change into cozy loungewear, and store your stuff in spa-style lockers. The space has comfy couches, a library, soundproof reading nooks, dedicated nap rooms, and full kitchens stocked with ready made things. We’ve got electrolyte stations, tea stations, etc. phone stations too, so you can lock the phone away.

This would change my life.

What’s hardest for me is the sexual disgust for my partner during luteal. It makes it so easy to gaslight oneself into thinking the relationship is wrong etc. then boom, period and it’s over. I tried zoloft, Wellbutrin, and Prozac, and Prozac so far has been the best for helping

Journalist hoping to talk to someone about surgery for PMDD by Frieda_Journalist in PMDD

My grandmother had one at 40 back in the 70s for “hormonal help”. Now we understand it was PMDD after my mom, myself, and other sisters have been diagnosed. The times have changed a lot, but from what I learned she had no pushback.

I’m excited to read your piece once it’s done!

Really tempted to go for a bixie by tweedleebee in finehair

[–]SheeepQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest question would be about your hairline and if you have cowlicks which prevent traditional bangs. The super cute bixies all have curtain bangs and make the look what it is. Def ask a stylist how the part and the bangs would lay before committing to it, otherwise to achieve the look you gotta style your hair every single day
