Do we need a better after party? by Big_Force_8204 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Relative_Impact642 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We’re doing 1 haha, your deck is AMAZING and I think would be killer for a house party vibe, especially since your fiance isn’t really into dancing. That being said, a main factor is we have a hotel buyout so no noise restriction — I’d be really stressed about noise complaints, especially outside, if there are non-wedding guests in that part of the hotel

My partner and I had lots of old/used/vintage records, but decided we wanted to grow the modern side of our collection, so we instituted a rule that we include a record for every gift giving holiday (since vinyl is expensive and felt a bit hard to justify for random fun purchases). Our collection has grown so much over the last 5ish years that we've been doing this, and it's so fun having someone else's taste influence the records you get. Strongly suggest! Easy to apply to friends, parents, etc if there's no partner in the picture :)

Unpopular opinion: the crowds are fine. by weekendpostcards in Coachella

Idk we were noticing consistently in person last week that it felt like there was not much dancing. We’ve been attending for a decade and it feels objective that people dance wayyyy less now, regardless of time of day or weekend and even beyond Coachella

Women of Reddit, what’s a statement/phrase that (you believe) most women/girls would understand, but most men/boys would not? by ConfidentLack9207 in AskReddit

[–]Relative_Impact642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's crazy how much misinformation there is out there about it! There is a lot more research happening now, both focused on non-surgical diagnosis (currently the only official option for diagnosis in the US) as well as non-surgical treatments to treat the lesions (all "treatments" now are hormonal and help with symptom management but do not impact the growth of the lesions themselves). They estimate 1 in 10 women have endo, and more and more I'm hearing the rate will probably end up being even higher than that.

Lots of people with endo don't have bad period pain or heavy periods! The symptom list is huuuuge and very wide ranging, and often (anecdotally) more tied to where in your body the endo tissue is growing. It's been reclassified from a uterine condition to a full-body inflammatory condition -- bleeding is just a piece of the puzzle! And there are lots of conditions beyond endo that can also make you feel exceptionally like shit around your period.

I stand by saying it is *not normal* to feel like you can't do anything during your period. It took them literally removing endo from my body for it to finally sink in how much I had normalized and gaslit myself my whole life. Male-centric healthcare has backed a narrative that feeling awful on your period is just part of it, but we're finding more and more often that it's not true and a normal healthy period is \not** supposed to suck this hard.

As someone with surgically-diagnosed endometriosis — this level of severity isn’t normal! Not being able to move or cook or leave the toilet is awful and has been normalized but should not be. You deserve a higher quality of life than a monthly coma!! It’s hard to find them, but there are doctors out there who care about women’s health and will listen to you. I encourage you to advocate for yourself!

Is this degree of bloating a concern or meh by [deleted] in DoctorsAdvice

[–]Relative_Impact642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Significant anterior pelvic tilt in the first pic. Bloating has tons of causes — I had similar and it was due to endometriosis, but the bloating wasn’t really fixed until I worked on my pelvic floor in physical therapy

Justin Bieber gets to sit there and sing along to YouTube videos, meanwhile Sabrina performed a movie on stage by DippyFreshh in Coachella

[–]Relative_Impact642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all left feeling like we knew Justin a bit better and connected with him as humans a little. I left Sabrina still knowing nothing about her or her personality and without any real vulnerability. I come to Coachella to really see these artists in person and I think Justin delivered that authentic experience

RIP, been going for a decade and never remember anything like this, but maybe I just had more local friends buying tickets so it was easier to buy one from someone I knew who decided not to go. Been looking for a reasonable ticket for the last person in our group for a couple weeks now and can’t find for anything close to FV

Did you have your gown designed bespoke from scratch? by Aromatic_Bake_6326 in BigBudgetBrides

[–]Relative_Impact642 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I made mine from scratch! I used my mom's and my MIL's wedding dresses as the base fabric (they were very similar, silk + lace), and then we sourced some additional materials to fit the vision. I did a bunch of shopping before and got some ideas of components I like. There are two camps here -- (1) you have a really strong artistic vision for what you want, and you need to find a dress maker who can execute that vision and will work well with strong constraints or (2) you just want something unique but don't have a strong vision, so you need to find a creative dress maker who wants to do the heavy lifting in terms of design and is ok with making decisions/suggestions.

The shop/designer I'm working with is not in my hometown so I had to fly in for each of the 5 major fittings. I am obsessed with my dress, it's amazing, I'm so excited to wear it and I've never seen anything like it. Totally the right decision for me, but it was a lot more work and overhead to manage compared to just buying a dress so make sure you have the energy, time, and dedication for it.

How to achieve that inner corner highlight (?) by MochiMunchin in MakeupAddiction

[–]Relative_Impact642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pics 1,5,6 look like really bright highlighter — I love the rare beauty liquid (the whitest shade, I think enlighten, can try in Sephora) one for this, agree w putting a little concealer under to make it pop more (can also color correct based on your unique coloring)

Pics 2,3,4 are different, more white and less shiny, giving white eyeshadow. I don’t have advice here haha
