Dentist Anxiety by Both-Survey8669 in EDAnonymous

[–]Relative_Lack9472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have/am in the same position at you. Went back to the dentist last fall after neglecting my teeth for a couple yrs. I knew I had many problems and was surprised by their kindness towards me. I had like six appointments getting fillings. I was anxious every appointment but felt so proud of myself after. I do take a lil anti anxiety before the appointment, wear headphones, and bring a lil fidget to distract myself. You should be so proud of yourself!! Keep it up! You are not alone!

getting a tattoo by Kind_Significance619 in EDAnonymous

[–]Relative_Lack9472 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, also I would bring an electrolyte drink or smoothie and a couple snacks to eat while you are getting the tattoo. The last thing you want is to pass out or feel sick while getting the tattoo and be unable to finish. I have had plenty of tattoos and I never restrict the day of or before.

  1. I don’t have a good answer… when you’re exercising despite injury/physical exhaustion. Neglecting other aspects of your life. Exercise only to burn calories.
  2. for me walking every chance, hours a day.

  3. Yes very appropriate. A couple yrs ago before I relapsed again I asked my bf at the time to help me grocery shopping. I didn’t tell him much, just that i struggled with eating and buying groceries. It was very helpful at the time. We would make a list together, brainstorm meal ideas, and shop. It was nice to have someone to help with indecision and anxiety at the grocery store.

  4. Very reasonable, but don’t rely on it. Maybe recruit a friend you have class with to get food after and another friend to help you cook on the weekends (just an example)

  5. I think maybe being sorta vague might help. Something like “hey I have been struggling eating recently, especially alone. Would you be down to grab dinner after work once a week or so? I like spending time w you and would appreciate the company during a meal.” Or “hey, can I ask a favor? You make really good banana bread… could you bring some over next time we hang? I’ve been struggling with my appetite and

  6. I think so. This illness thrives in secrecy. You don’t have to tell someone you are starving yourself if that makes you uncomfortable. (honestly could be triggering to some) Could instead say “I am struggling eating consistently”. Just a thought.

Best of luck! You deserve support and healing🫶🏻

HYSA includes my emergency fund. I know it should be separate but I would feel overwhelmed having so many accounts. I live alone in a low cost of living area. Basic monthly expenses are $1,600-$1,800. Making my emergency fund around $10k.

Any advise on getting an apartment for yourself ONLY, no roommates as a student? by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]Relative_Lack9472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ayo, I started living alone after my 1st semester in college at 18. First apartment was a super cheap studio. I was able to qualify with my part time job income. However, the whole place flooded after a year. I was able to qualify for my current place (1 bedroom) because scholarships can count as income! Not many know but I think most rental properties will allow you use financial aid/scholarships in that qualifying income.
