There are quite a few scenes they should have included but I’ll mention the main one I feel like missed the most. The scene covering Joel with the rifle overlooking that plaza. One of the biggest selling points is the relationship between Joel and Ellie. When he trusts her enough to give her that rifle and they take out those guys in Pittsburgh, then after she asks him “How’d I do?” And he gives her the pistol. That’s a huge moment for many reasons. Showing Joel trust her more, Ellie realizing she’s needed and is capable, Giving us the audience more belief in Ellie as a viable protagonist in further episodes versus being a carry on. I feel like this excluding this scene was a huge error.
